Well, Trump showed the whole world all the corrupt strings people in power can pull in our country. I honestly think that's a good thing. We need to stop pretending we are the greatest country ever. This is America, these are Americans. America loves and condones violence and oppression and americans love to participate because they feel angry and disadvantaged and because they're brainwashed for whatever reasons.
This whole 4 year stretch has really got me thinking about me how rhetoric and language really seem to be such a strong tool in oppressive agendas.

Pepper spray was used multiple times, a white woman was shot and killed. Rubber bullets where fired. BLM was there, so was Antifa. Maybe we should just do like Russia or China and kill the protesters, then go shred the Constitution while we're at it. My good friend(veteran)is a reporter and was there all day yesterday and is still present. He was hit with pepper spray, tear gas, and hit with one rubber bullet.
the problem wasn't that they were white, but that they were dangerous morons breaking into the capital building. Protesting and attempting a coup are two different things. One should be allowed, the other literally can't be if you want a functioning country

You would think the lesson of trump is “lmao wow the whole system is a joke” but instead there’s been a concerted effort for the last 4 years to convince people that since trump is so bad, it proves the status quo is good.

There is no way to make a presidency like Trump's "right". Everything is too far gone. I hope to see some "justice" but I dont even know what thatd look like at this point. The divisiveness and hatred and loss of rationality that has happened over the last ~5 years is mindblowing

that is the sad truth, and it will be milked for years, until we get a worse trump and the neo-libs will milk that too

Did voting for Trump mean I think people should storm the capitol? Did Trump even ask people to storm the capitol? I've listen to him tell his supporters to go home "You have to go home now, we have to have peace, we have to have law and order, we have to respect our great people in law and order. We don't want anyone hurt"
When Biden takes office should I say "this is what Enlil voted for"? Because I know there's going to be a lot of opportunities for that.

People said the same thing about Bush when Abu Ghraib happened. Now he’s a resistance hero, his approvals have more than doubled since he left office (from 30% in 07 to 62% in 2018). They’re probably even higher now.
When President Tom Cotton invades Iran in 2026, Trump will be hailed as someone who has grown and is dignified when he tweets “Clueless Tom is pushing us into a war we don’t want.”

1. I'm not waiting on a revolution, I don't think a beneficial one is possible in america. 2. I would have voted Biden, because I do believe the lesser evil is still the right choice. With that said, the real structural problems won't be addressed by Biden because it runs against the democrat and republicans interests. We can celebrate getting a dangerous destabilizing moron out, and should, but I don't think Americans will see the kind of leadership they deserve under Biden. Will he be better than Trump? Sure, but that's such a low bar to clear I would hate to see it become the new standard

Trump had his lawyer demand trial by combat and then told them to March on the capitol. You voted for that. Before you voted, Trump said his willingness to have a peaceful transition of power depended on the election results. You still voted for him.
Biden may not keep his word, but he may. You knew this would happen because your chosen president told you it would. Even now you refuse to accept that your president caused this.

That was Giuliani, who said it AFTER the election was over. Do you even have evidence that Trump had Giuliani say that?
Quote:
Enlil said: Biden may not keep his word, but he may.
So it sounds like you knew that before you voted for him. Which opens the flood gates to "you voted for that" every time Biden does something undesirable.

Everyone has a potential for not keeping his word. That's neither here nor there.
The evidence that Trump had giuliani say that is:
1. He hired him to speak on his behalf, and 2. He didn't contradict giuliani after he said it.
If you hired someone to speak for you and he said something you didn't want said, would you just stay silent?
We know that if you vote for someone who then attempts a coup, you'll make excuses for that person.

This happened at 4:17 PM, after the rioters had the run of the place for some time.

I'm not making excuses for the rush on the capital. I'm saying that is clearly not what I voted for.
You're just making it easy for me to say "you voted for that" every time Biden does something undesirable.
Hopefully, I'll rise above stupid personal attacks though.
