Grey Mould Hit I Believe: Updated with post dump analysis

Working on my second ever grow - first time did PF Tek in Jars and got 4 flushes from that, was pretty excited. decided to try Mono tub for round 2.
Everything was going great, lots of mycelium growth during colonization, but i started noticing a grey color starting to get visible through the plastic lid. I sterlizied some gloves and carefully pulled a piece of substrate out today to get a closer look at it. looks like Grey mold from everything i have seen on here. I havn't really seen pictures exactly like mine so i thought i'd post some for you guys to see.
Is this a deal breaker for the grow? tub has been colonizing for about 2.5 weeks now. substrate is purchased sterilized Hpoo - spawned with a healthy colonized grain bag.
Edit: smells ok - like earthy mushrooms

Update: I took the tub out back and dumped it today - too much grey mold (pretty sure it was botrytis) for me to be comfortable with.
So i thought i'd show a post dump analysis and see if i can figure out where i went wrong. for this grow i followed NorthSpore's monotub video walkthrough, using their grain spawn and substrate. i used 5 of their boomer bags to 1 bag of grain spawn. grain spawn looked completely healthy when i inoculated the substrate - however looking back i noticed signs of the grey mould on the top of the HPoo substrate at day 1-2. I initially thought it was just moisture condensation.
Could be there was botrytis in the substrate before i opened the sealed bags - not sure. i was thoroughly clean during the process so not sure what else it would be.
after dump out there was a decent amount of liquid in the bottom of the tub (See pics below). i am not sure if this is normal exudate or not - i followed the 1-2 drop squeeze test for field capacity. the substrate looked ok to me everywhere except the top surface that had the grey mold growth that caused the dump.
so my thoughts on where i could have gone wrong: 1: purchased substrate could have been contaminated. Next time i plan to make my own substrate and properly sterilize it prior to inoculation.
2: using the fruiting tub to colonize. next time i plan to try the 6 qt shoe box method and keeping them sealed with the lid on during colonization, then move the colonized boxes to my current fruiting tub for automated airflow/humidity controls.
3: using 100% hpoo substrate. not sure if Hpoo has higher contam risk or not - I had zero issues with grey mold when i did the PF Tek BRF jars last time. I plan to try a Coir/Vermiculite substrate next following the many guides on this site and see if the elimination of the Hpoo organics eliminates the botrytis
4: too much substrate - 5 bags to 1 bag grain spawn maybe was to much. i wanted a big harvest and lots of repeat flushes. next time i will try 1:2 ratio of spawn to substrate. should colonize faster and less time for uglies to creep into my substrate. this colonization period was 2.5 weeks for the full tub.
Any input is appreciated, however I'm sure you guys read a hundred of these a day so not expected.
I'll post updates on my next try if anyone else can benefit from my trial and error

I do 1 to 1 spawn to sub. Tried higher ratios but really saw no benefit. I usually get everything it is going to pump in 2 or 3 flushes and the first is always a canopy. Lately I've been getting double canopies first flush (top and bottom). Its due to my lights and no liners. I pulled 106 dry from a 2qt spawn tub a few days ago. 112 dry from a 4 qt 2 days ago and 168 from a 4qt last night. On average I get 3oz dry per qt before they crap no matter how much sub I add. More sub = longer wait. The grain only has so much the myc wants.

Thanks for the advice! - i'm just waiting for some new materials and i'll give it a try again in the 6 qrt tubs. i should have enough spawn to do 1:1 in one and 1:2 in the other and see if my results are similar to yours.

My situation is similar to yours, in that my first attempt growing monotubs after succeeding at PF-tek failed in two 66 qt. monotubs succumbing to trichoderma (blue-green mold)
After watching this today
I started considering retrying with a 15 qt. monotub instead of a 66 qt. monotub. Why? Just so I could try with one brick of coir instead of multiple bricks of coir. Like so many, I am living in poverty, so I need to achieve success ASAP, and am thinking perhaps working with a monotub less then 1/3 the capacity of the 66 qt. one might reduce the chance of contam. in like proportion.
Anybody think working with a smaller monotub might be a better idea ?

Sounds like we are both trying the same approach - my next try is going to be in 2 6 qt shoe boxes instead of a larger tub. I plan to let them colonize with 1:1 spawn ratio to Coir and then once colonized put them back into my larger tub to use it as the fruiting chamber. the larger tub is setup with fan controls and humidity controls so i am hoping that approach works out.
