Should I go to fruiting or wait for casing layer to colonize?

Hello all,
First of all thanks to everyone in this community with all the info you provide!
I´m on my first grow right now and have spawned to bulk 250gr of colonized rice to coir. I think i messed up the ratios and added too much coir and also added a very thick casing layer. I prepared the tubs on the 25th of december so it's been almost two weeks. The tubs have pretty much colonized but the top coir layer is barely colonized with very little mycelium showing. It has been advancing over the last few days but very slowly. I had a look now and i saw that both have started forming a lot of hyphal knots on the sides and even a few pins. I haven´t opened the tub but the lids do not form airtight seals. On the side walls the substrate has started to separate from the walls
Should i crack the lid and go into fruiting even if the top layer has not colonized and treat it like a standard casing layer? Or should i wait more for it to colonize and disregard the hyphal knots and pins for now? Any other suggestions are welcome as well Thanks!

Many of us just put our tubs into fruiting conditions once the grain is mixed with the substrate. I agree it appears you do have knots forming.
In my opinion I would leave the lid as is because it is retaining enough moisture and getting enough FAE that you are seeing these knots. I would suggest just getting that tub into 12/12 hours of light and darkness and you will likely start seeing many more pins in a couple days.

Thanks, I´m just worried that my surface layer barely has any mycelium on it and it might contaminate or never colonize if i put it into fruiting?
With the first tubs i did using the same containers i used less spawn and coir substrate and it colonized almost 100% in 9 days. Then i took them out in the light and cracked the lids open for FAE. And misted just enough to get the tiny droplets on the surface. Everything went smoothly like that. But the fruits were quite small hence i went with more spawn and substrate this time around to see if this makes a difference.
