Dmtworld eh? ive been trying to dig through thehive and rhodium archives recently. Left Facebook like 4 years ago. Won't even log in to earn "free" stuff.
So I got Teds TWC print streaked. Might try crossing it with my Melmac. I gotta read up on as to how.

Crossing genetics happens in the spore stages... trying to cross already established mycilium is not an effective way to cross two variants..

Sorry I should’ve worded it, “mixing spawn seems like it makes it easy to cross”.

that's how eatyualive got whytegold but I'm not entirely convinced it's not just rustywhyte. I have a print of it that came in the other day and streaked it last night so I'll be seeing for myself soon enough.

Whyte gold is definitely a little different although it might revert back pretty quickly.
I’m pretty sure initially some dropped gold spores too but I haven’t seen any myself. I think it’s in the thread eat made about how it happened that there’s side by side pictures and they’ve got different hues and gill color too.

FB doesn't care about mushrooms, the group has been reported many times and has been manually appealed by their staff and they say we don't violate any guidelines. id worry more about members. VPNs will block your ip aswell if ur really worried. Overall mothership is the safest but I'm not paranoid or anything on fb.

I'd love to see a half pint BRF cake inoculated with Yeti, just to see if it topples over.

I wouldn’t be worried about Facebook itself as much as some self righteous friend of a friend stumbles into your page or local LE decide to check stuff out. Facebook is so big and connected to so many other things it’s just too much. Shroomery getting rid of all the personal info embedded into posting is awesome.
Anyway.
I’ve had a yeti germ plate sitting around for weeks, this threads inspired me to bump it up to the front of the line. Transfer/lc time, then pray for monsters.

This may be a silly question but do any of these tat varieties produce spores? I’ve swabbed one tat fruit, waited a week or a little longer then streaked a plate and nothing happened.

I find when using swabs that have dried the spores domt really come off with a swipe...I normally cut off a peice and cram it into the agar....also the og tat is known for a low spore count so if your wanting spores letting them over grow a bit is helpfull..

Clear spores are sort of a bitch like that.
With ape swabs I streaked a bunch of plates but got no germination until I stuck the whole swab in the puck.
Like he said cutting pieces off works best. Somebody had a cool post about how to cut a swab so it peels back like a flower and you can rip each “petal” off and jam it into a plate.
