About 28:00 the peer pressure starts in earnest trying to convince the parents to murder their children

I think Jim Jones could possibly be a better comparison. They both convinced a large number of people to disregard reality and commit an act of incredible stupidity .

A lot of those people didn't commit suicide though. Many were forcibly dosed with cyanide.

You're right, Jonestown was only possible because the people Jim and his cronies cornered were forced to drink the lethal koolaid under threat of being shot to death. With the capitol insurrection there's no convenient scapegoat, they were all completely willing and self-serving.

Lol for you, this is so out of character. So trump is responsible for what a tiny minority of people did because of rhetoric. When has rhetoric ever come up as an excuse for what people do?

Do you also believe that the msm is responsible when their rhetoric triggers riots after they sensationalize/give false or partial facts to cause outrage? I mean its all for ratings right

Was ozzy Osbourne responsible for causing people to commit suicide after listening to his record?

What about blms rhetoric causing its supporters to riot or shoot police?

Trump says a lot of things. I dont think he was triggering a riot/coup when he told his supporters to protest at the Capitol
I just think they're a bunch of fucking idiots who got caught up in the moment and  got carried away. I just dont think they went there to start a literal coup

See, you're just a liar. Or if you're not a liar then you are retarded. I said it was a riot and it was heinous. I only disagreed with it being a coup and a riot/coup being trumps intent. I don't know why you have lie about my positions

I would say that calling it just rhetoric
Comparing it to Ozzy's music
Saying the MSM does the same thing
Bringing up BLM as a but "but tommy also hit sally" argument
And then saying oh they just got carried away like every frat boy's mom after criminal activity.

You believing it's no big deal.
You made believe actually. You made all of us believe you thought it was no big deal

I don't think it's that simple . The children were fed poison by their parents and others  . There  was allot of solidarity amongst most of the adults but not all to do that  .  At least that's my understanding .

Not all the adults, though. A number tried to back out at the 'mass suicide' part. Some were forced to commit suicide at gunpoint, some were shot, a dozen or two escaped with their lives.

That last group is why we even know any details.

It's almost as absurd as 87% of Democratic voters supporting Medicare For All and Biden and the rest of the Democratic Congress representatives completely ignoring their voters.

That's not even close to the same thing.
What happened to you, qman?

What's not close to the same thing?

The fact that you can't even keep up with this simple conversation is quite telling...  I included all of the relevant quotes I was replying to in my post.  Everything you need to understand about what I said was included.  You simply aren't using your brain.

You said, "There's no democracy taking place at the Capital, therefore there's no horrible attack on it."

That is delusion to the highest degree and I am very worried for you, qman.  We, the USA, just had an election and voted in Biden as President.  If you're using hard drugs then please stop and let yourself recover.  PM me if you're having any issues you're going through that you want to talk to someone about.

You also disagree with the definition of "coup." Seemingly picking and choosing versions of the word that fit your narrative.

Lately, I've noticed that conservatives seems to debate as if they're playing pokemon.

You just kinda switch out arguments until you find the one that's super effective, with no regard for continuity or logic.

I mean, the tactic itself isn't new, but it's spreading throughout the regular GOP instead of being limited to the fringe elements.

The entire GOP is becoming a right wing extremist party. It's been going on for a while, yes, but at this point, the idea that democrats are legitimate citizens and that democracy and the transfer of power should happen based on votes is becoming an extremist fringe belief within the GOP.

39% of republicans believe that political violence is acceptable and may be necessary. 13% believe that political violence is completely necessary. We're basically looking at the formation of a terrorist movement.

I grew up around christians who believe that lying is a sin, always. But it's not a lie if you believe it. For a long time, I've noticed that they will use this loophole by just being lazy and believing whatever is convenient at any given moment. For those who do not believe that lying is a sin, the process is even easier.

But yeah. Liberals need to get armed.
