Bullshit. The lethal action probably saved lives. If the cop had taken another action, there would have been 20 people through that window within seconds to harm that cop.
The chaos of the situation was created by the mob, not the police. This is the exact opposite of a traffic stop where the police create the encounter.

You really think that?
Yes. You don't?
Nah I don’t think RICO’ing an entire group of people because someone hit a cop with a fire extinguisher is setting a good precedent. Trump tried something similar on protestors at his inauguration and had people who were simply walking on the same block as people smashing stuff facing 70 years. Eventually all charges were dropped (I believe).
I didn't say anything about rico or fire extinguishers.

Refer to sig.
She shouldnt have been there but she didnt need to die. These people were intent on taking good selfies and that alone it seems. A barrage of rubber bullets would stop her in her tracks.

I wonder what the guy with the ziptie cuffs planned to do with them, maybe more than just taking selfies?

That man had what he had. There were a dozen people right outside of that barricade with dozens more behind them. You and I are not in a position to determine whether he had time to equip and use nonlethal alternatives. Without a doubt, he was in reasonable apprehension of serious bodily harm.
I have many times spoken out against police use of excessive force and will continue to do so. Here, the use of deadly force was clearly justified by the circumstances. I agree it would be nice if people didn't die. It would be nice if that woman were able to stand trial. Unfortunately, these people created the life-threatening situation for multiple officers. That only one was shot is a miracle in itself.

Ohh, so now you aren't in a position to judge if law enforcement is in a position to use deadly force. It's sad how you're opinion changes based on who the cop kills.

Not based on who the cop kills. Based on the circumstances. A man (of any color) who is pulled over on the side of the road is doing so at a time/location of the police's choosing. The police create that encounter and are responsible for the safety of that man.
The police did not create any of this. An angry mob of people (of any color) who create a reasonable apprehension of death or serious bodily harm are responsible for the harm that flows from their conduct.

I've seen some commentary suggesting that this kind of reaction could help establish that Trump's incitement of the riot was intentional.

If a mob of crazy conspiracy theorists who believe their life/way of/livelihood is ending, who are dumb/crazy enough to believe trump’s rhetoric (or anyone for that matter) are attacking my home and busting through windows in a mad fit, I would blow their fucking heads off.

The real hypocrisy is the "stand your ground" folks who are trying to justify this.
The actions of these people are unprecedented and dangerous. The danger is much more than simple bodily harm, it literally sets the bar for more people to do this kind of shit.

And if the National Guard had been there in advance, nobody would have made it into the building in the first place. The most powerful country in the world is fully capable of keeping its legislature secured against angry mobs. It was 100% avoidable that anyone made it this far, and that is mostly on the guy who could have called in the National Guard sooner and didn't.
Which is not to say the cop who shot her couldn't have made a better call that potentially would have prevented this outcome. How about a "Stop or I'll shoot?"

@mycolorado-Youre not a public servant and as a private citizen I would hope the trial you would have to go through would be just. That cop wasnt at home and it's debatable as fuck as to whether the cops helped create this situation. It seems they let many of these people through the gates themselves.
My rhetoric doesnt change based on political alignment. Shit if the reason for the riot were just, in my own opinion, I might have even sided with them.
It isnt just in my opinion so I dont, but I think every government should know what its populace is capable of.

Enlil... can I ask you something?
Why is it that you lie so much?
You know damn well that not a single one of those protesters was going to do *any* physical harm to anybody in that capitol building.
Sure, there might have been a shouting match. But that's about it.
To suggest otherwise is simply hysteria. I suggest you stop contributing to it.
