Nah, he's just really good at selectively picking out the information he sees and the information he doesn't see.
Like how he started a whole thread about "political censorship" in which he firmly reiterates that he thinks incitement of violence should be banned, but doesn;t seem to realize that the recent social media bans of right wing personalities is entirely rooted in their continuous incitement of violence.

An Inside Job: The Alarming Parallels Between Harvey Milk's Murder and Politicians Bringing Guns into Congress
Quote:
It was Monday, November 27, 1978 when Dan White brought a gun to San Francisco City Hall and shot his colleagues, Mayor George Moscone and Supervisor Harvey Milk. Now, nearly fifty years later, Republicans in Congress are refusing to pass through metal detectors so that they can bring their guns to work. How are we back at this place in history again?

Like I said earlier, we might be looking at the first congressional mass shooting in the next few years.
Well, at minimum, we might get some sort of gun reform after that.

Donald trump is the most self serving person in America.
Most people realized this decades ago its amazing some people still haven’t figured it out
Most of them are juat turning a blind eye to it. I know people who hated him as a person up until he ran for president. A cousin of mine who works in NYC used to talk about how everyone he knows whos worked in trump projects has gotten ripped off. Now he loves the guy. Still brings up how trump ripped his union off though. They just care about their team winning at this point
There’s a reason nobody took Donald trump seriously when he announced running for president. Most people have considered him a laughingstock, buffoon and a business failure for a long time. He was seen as a joke. What was shocking was that there was a segment of society that were so clueless about what was obvious to most of the world.

I dont know if that's true though. It seems like most of them just didnt care who won so long as it was a Republican. Thats just an opinion though.

They should let Dianne Feinstein make the announcement when it happens just for old times sake

But none of them were talking about building a wall or otherwise race baiting as hard. He told then everything they wanted to hear. If he lost they would all just file behind the next guy.

That's not mutually exclusive with being totally oblivious.

It also seems like a lot of them were happy that a politician was finally brazen enough to speak negatively about Muslims, Mexican immigrants, disabled people, and poorer countries. He was the voice of a large group of people who were sick and tired of being told that their bigoted worldviews were "not PC".

Brian Jones said: Yes. Unity is overrated, and I don't want to join with the deplorable half of Republican voters, and a also not a certain portion of Dem voters. I do want to reestablish our traditional alliances that Trump poisoned. I fully understand that puts me in lockstep with the neoliberal war machine, but what's the alternative? China is getting stronger every day, the only major country with economic growth during corona. Then there's Russia, Iran, Pakistan, etc. IDK, we are in decline. It's better to have allies than not.
One thing trump got right is questioning the current order. Why do we need to pretend we’re on the verge of war with Russia or China? Beyond making a shit ton of money for the defense industry and guaranteeing a police state? China depends on our consumers and we depend on their laborers. An actual war at this point helps no one, but solidarity beyond national borders is dangerous so we need to keep at each others’ throats.

He played a successful businessman on tv, so that got some people confused.

All the information anyone needed about Donald Trump was known before 2016. But before 2016 it was easy to avoid being ripped off by Donald trump: don’t work for him or patronize whatever businesses he hadn’t yet bankrupted. Yet, because millions of low information, Low intelligence voters everyone has suffered through his incompetence.
Hillary campaigned in front of a bankrupt trump casino. Now all of downtown DC is boarded up like one of his failed businesses.

I think the “brilliant businessman” descriptor is far down the list of why people gravitated towards him. The businessman thing was just an excuse for anyone who asked “why trump?”

I don't, actually. Trump's constant need for attention has made him synonymous with "good business" in pop culture. Hell, even Avon Barksdale called himself and Stringer Bell the "Trump brothers" in The Wire.
There are a large number of low information voters. That includes lack of information about his racism. But everyone has seen Home Alone 2.

Thats the number one reason my boss says trump makes a good president. Same with most people ive worked for. Maybe its juat to cover their racism, but most of them are pretty openly racist.
