And they probably feared getting shot if they tried to do mass arrests. The cops were pretty outnumbered.
But what I meant was more like the girl in that video who came "for the revolution" and was just flabbergasted that she was shoved and pepper sprayed by cops for trying to get into the building. As if she's not on the team that is supposed to get treated like that.

Yeah exactly. Just complete surprise at any backlash from the cops. We're the good guys and we're on the cops' team! Why would this happen to us?

Yeah, I didn't think much of it at first...but I'm pretty concerned at this point.

Apparently the members of congress who were hiding inside the house chamber were explicitly told to not make any social media posts about what was happening, and this congresswoman who is one of the most ardent trump supporters and a qanon nutcase tweeted this shit

Quote:
No person shall be a Senator or Representative in Congress, or elector of President and Vice-President, or hold any office, civil or military, under the United States, or under any state, who, having previously taken an oath, as a member of Congress, or as an officer of the United States, or as a member of any State legislature, or as an executive or judicial officer of any State, to support the Constitution of the United States, shall have engaged in insurrection or rebellion against the same, or given aid or comfort to the enemies thereof.
This seems pretty clear cut to me

I'm disappointed to be seeing insurrection being labelled as terrorism though. That's an antagonistic lie. At the Washington Capitol building rioters did not bomb, burn or shoot. They forced their way in, somehow thinking that things would be better for them if they made this futile stand against a government change they don't want. That's not terrorism, the objective was not to cause fear and harm to people and property without regard. Mislead and stupid certainly, but not evil.
The Xmas day bombing, that's terrorism.
The definition of terrorism: the unlawful use of violence and intimidation, especially against civilians, in the pursuit of political aims.
Now, you could claim they did not use violence or intimidation on civilians, but seeing as they used violence and intimidation towards representatives of civilians and persons protecting representatives of civilians, I'd classify it as a terrorist act.

Tell me about one other mass protest, violent or not, that has been classified as a terrorist act and I'll accede your position. Other than that I see it as just people who hate Trumpsters looking for more labels to place on them.
I'm not supporting the actions, but we should not combat fuckery with bullshit. It's already bad enough.

This wasn’t just a mass protest. There was active planning to storm the Capitol. Nothing about what happened was spur of the moment. These guys wore fatigues and were dressed for combat. Many of them were armed.
How about Benghazi? That was a protest at the US consulate that provided cover for an attack on the facility.

Protests are rarely spur of the moment, that's not a requirement. Many people obviously were armed, it's America so that's a given. But no shots were fired by the crowd.
Benghazi was a coordinated military attack that involved mortars and shit. Then passers by got involved as well because the fucken hate Americans in Libya. It's literally a war zone.
One could argue that BLM riots were politically and racially driven and much fear, death and damage of property occurred so they were also terrorist attacks. But I would also disagree.

It says it took place in 2004 and one of the girls DOB is 1987, so she would have been 17, not as young as I thought reading the reddit comments, but still a minor

The protest was planned. That’s irrelevant to my point. My point was the attack was also planned. It wasn’t just something that happened because protesters got caught up in the moment.
The Benghazi attack was planned the day it happened. There were active protests going on all over the Middle East that day in reaction to some video made by a pastor. The people who stormed the consulate realized they could take advantage of the chaos of the protests to breach the compound.
Ether they are both terror attacks or they are not.

The cia killed three of its own officers for oil? This doesn’t make sense. None of these oil conspiracy theories make any sense anymore and haven’t for quite a while.
