SSRI + Shrooms

Hi, I've become a regular shroomer (qmonthly). I've been more and more anxious over the last few months, likely related to work, a move, and trait anxiety. I think I overshot on my last 2 trips (because I was using PE rather than a less potent strain) and that hasn't helped--if anything I was more anxious.
All told, I talked with my GP and I'm going on an SSRI while I get therapy and practice mindfulness. I've done some reading and heard two different things that concern me: both that it could reduce the effect of the shrooms (not a big deal--I can increase the dose) but also that it could reduce the therapeutic benefit of shrooms. Given that I've been using them x 9 months without fixing my anxiety, I'm less concerned.
But I wanted to know everyone else's experience with antidepressants + psilocybin!

I would worry most about serotonin syndrome.

Depending on dose of the SSRI, it can significantly reduce to completely negate any effects of the mushrooms and other psychedelics.

I would avoid SSRIs as well. What about cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT)? I had a friend who had a long-lasting period during which he couldn't leave his house without suffering from severe anxiety and CBT helped him enormously. He was also super straight edge so drugs/psychedelics were not an option.

SSRI will inhibit the psilocybin from binding to receptors. You want as much serotonin as possible. If you want less anxiety when tripping eat some pans.

I take 5mg buspirone (very low dose) twice a day and last night, I tripped for the first time since starting the medication. Tripped harder than I ever have. Too hard, to be honest. Shit was wild.

Trazedone completely removed my ability to trip for several months.
Hell of a sleep aid tho.

If the SSRI is fluoxetine HCl, then I would wait 29 days because when I looked at the package insert for this drug under "pharmacokinetics" it said the drug stayed in your body for up to 29 days. That means 29 days before it can no longer be detected by a lab. Doesn't mean its concentration in your body will stay the same. It will naturally decrease if you stop eating it. If it's some other drug, then I don't know.

I just dropped a medium dose of cubes on NYE (first trip in a few years). I'm on a medium dose of SSRIs and a small dose of trazadone and have been since summer. Trip was just as I remembered

Did you feel a strange vibration in your body? Like you were being electrocuted with euphoria? I experienced it really heavily during the last trip and im not sure what to make of it. The person I tripped with said it didnt happen to them and weren't sure what I was talking about. Ive been wondering if it was a heavy release of serotonin caused by the SSRI.
