I showered daily and shaved my face every other day when I was going into the office up until Friday the 13th of 2020* (a day to live in infamy). Now, working from home, I shower every other day and some times every 3rd day, I shave once a week. Some days i stay in pajama bottoms all day, in summer i wear short pants only. Slippers or sandals on my feet. Fuck it, i kinda like my funk.

You said body spray s I fugured you meant that. but its patently good advice, in a pinch, it earns itself back on the streets.

I do a hot then cold rise after my daily workouts (no soap), just to get the sweat off. That way, I always smell 'like myself'. Once a week I'll use soap and shampoo. My skin feels/looks pretty good and healthy.
Seems like a lot of people here agree that too much soap is bad.

Oh that Dudu Osun stuff EXFOLIATES, I should add, it strips your outer dead skin layer off. I've never looked whiter than immadiately after a Dudu Osun rub, I think the exfoliation and some peripheral vasoconstriction, shortly thereafter I pink up as the blood vessels dilate again.
But despite being morbidly obese, I can see my deeper leg veins clearly after a Dudu Osun rub, its uncanny.

mndfreeze said: Soaps definitely kill off your microbiome. If smell is your concern you can just do quick army showers. Soap only pits/crotch/ass basically. Soaps also mess with your skins protective oils, can cause breakouts, etc. If you don't soap your entire body your overall microbiome will spread back across and recover/stay healthy easier.
Obviously this needs to be adjusted for people who work in dirty environments, healthcare, etc. If you work on cars and get oil and grease all over your arms, soap yer damn arms. Hands should be washed often regardless.
If you do full body soap and shower every day / multiple times a day, your skin will start to overcompensate with oil production so the one day you miss a shower you will feel extra gross. Keeping a decent schedule is just as important.

I shower twice a day.. but... In the mornings I only freshen up. Wash feets, balls, pits, butts, and mouths.
At night is when I take an actual shower.

Interesting. You use deodorant?
I do not wash my hair. Probably once every few months, if I get dirt and shit in it. Showering however.. I shower twice nearly every day. I got that Sicilian skin so my skin is oily as fuck just waking up in the morning after sleeping.

Yeah man, I use deodorant, it's good to smell good. I'm not super extreme, but since I've been doing this (for years), I don't get smelly at all. I think the sweating part is as important as the rinsing part. Sound body, sound mind. I wash the hair a bit more frequently than you maybe every week or two, but it seems to not be a bad thing to let it get a bit 'greasy'. Easier to style, and the hair likes it. I think it depends on your heritage as well. Being of European descent, I feel like my hair was evolved to repel water... like a golden retriever lol.

As others said, depends a lot on your activity level and how much you sweat. If I'm working out on a given day, then definitely a shower is needed. If I'm not working out at all and just going to and from my job, then a shower every 3 days or so seems to be enough

I shower daily pretty much. maybe some times i will skip a shower on my day off if I dont leave the house at all. this week I showered every single day though. but I only use shampoo two or three times a week because my hair gets dry if I wash the oil out too often.
I use soap on the rest of my body every shower though.

Bruh. The medieval dark ages everyone thought it was safer to leave a layer of grunge all over their bodies cuz it was like a protectant layer that repelled disease.
Then everyone started getting sick.
Please shower at least once a week lolz

Yeah dude the hair loves the lack of shampoo. It takes a few weeks but it balances out and then the light layer of oil works better than any other gel or anything... and it's natural(and no it doesn't look oily)! lolol
There was a period I was working night shift I wasn't using deodorant because night shift is frequently a cakewalk(and most importantly I work in a hospital in AC).
Definitely depends on your heritage. If I don't shower for over 18 hours you can literally see my skin glisten with greasyness.

Not really. But you should still shower. But I found this with my first Google search:
http://www.todayifoundout.com/index.php/2019/08/did-people-in-medieval-times-really-not-bathe/
“ Moving back to bathing, at least during medieval times, some medical professionals did advise against doing it excessively”

If you want to make sure people social distance from you, not showering for a few months might do the trick . Think of it as a force field.
But concerning OP's post, I think everyday is not necessary but more like every few days depending on how active one is and also whether it's Summer or not too.

I mean if your doing sterile work it’s gonna help. But if you don’t stink and are fine with not showering then I guess you really don’t have too? Me personally I need to shower everyday atleast.

I've gone through periods over the last few years of gnarly, off-grid Alaska living where it gets too cold inside to "bathe/shower " (or my primitive version of it) and when I don't, I notice I feel like I smell: bad. I firmly believe an overabundance of microbes is not a helpful thing. It's beyond my ability to properly describe, but the difference between no bathing and bathing regularly transcends cleanliness.
