Try leaving it alone until the myc recovers and don’t shake till it’s started fluffing up and attaching to itself which takes one day to four days.

Stamets, in Growing Gourmet and Medicinal Mushrooms, pg 137, recommends stirring at 100-200 rpm.

That's good stuff.. Thanks. (The mycelium may suffocate and rise to the surface of the liquid in search of air..)

My pleasure, man.
Another thing i’ve picked up, but can’t remember who to attribute: recovery time is due in part to cells building enzymes to metabolize the specific sugars in the LC...to aid this process, it helps to include in your plate agar small amounts of the specific sugars that will be used in the LC broth. Extending this logic, it might also help in preparing mycellia for nutritional components of spawn/substrate.

Nice!
I've never used the Shroomery's "journal" feature before. What's the best way to follow so I see posts as they come up? On this thread, Community >> Threads shows threads I follow with new entries highlighted, but that doesn't seem possible with a journal.

idk, it seems like if you want to keep up with a journal of an individual you'd have to just keep checking out their journal *shrug*

It is possible as long as you have permission from the journal op and they allow you to post in it. Otherwise save the link to your favorites.

So I actually just filled one of my no pour agar jars with some low nute LC. I let it grow out and colonize the 30ml of LC I had in there. Stirred it up good, even was able to release the myc from the agar plate itself, grabbed a 12g sterilized luer lock blunt tip to fill the syringe up with LC.
-> -> -> -> -> All this was done in an SAB. Syringe/Needle came pre-sterilized. I have you to thank pasty for the idea.

I have used 20ml I nocced 3 bags with a 60ml LC syringe
I want to chime into these questions more often, I should include a disclaimer that I have only gone this route once. I tried again with like 5-10ml and it was much slower. but again not sure if maybe my grain prep was off on the last attempt slowing me down.
I plan to return to bags and that 20ml will be my starting point again

Word. Yea, I was thinking between 10-20cc. I’ll use 20 when I do my oat bags today.

Did some ~4% ME. All 3 Melmac from the same plate. Definitely seems to be an improvement over past LC attempts.
