He may be a little guy, but look at the size of those balls! Ha. Anyway, we are finally getting a little rain this week, after about a month of very dry weather. Any chance some of our friends will make an appearance, or is it too late?

Ovoids in December! Project success! There were more but I didn't discover these until it was already dark. Wasn't even checking for them either, I just happened to notice.
And I was excited to share a pic of the one little cube I also found. Can you see it in this pic?

Nice ovoids Blue! Did you cultivate those?

Probably still a chance to find a few stragglers... I am changing focus to Ovoids now!

Back in the spring when shroomery went dark I happened upon a many ovoids that were rotting. I gathered some of them anyway. Put them in a Rubbermaid with wood chips and compost and submerged in water for 24 hours. The next day I poured half of them in to a cardboard box and the other half on the ground. I then did nothing. Here we are in December and the ones from the box are fruiting like crazy! The other chips appear to have mycelium but no fruit. I only wish I'd thought to check on em sooner. Here's today's haul.
Oh and another little cube for good measure.

That’s amazing! I didn’t know ovoids fruited this late in GA. Haven’t you gotten a freeze already? I’m so jealous.

It's been "freezing" a couple of times. But never for more than a few hours. My freaking daffodils are blooming right now.

Falcon - that's great! I'm so jealous. Nitro - thanks for getting back to me. I guess I'll turn my focus over to the Ovoids as well.

Dayumn falcon pans, cubes, occasional stray caerulescens and now some ovoids?!?! I think I could really adjust to that farm life lololol. Man that sounds like some pretty easy ovoid tek. Here I am trying to figure out how best to germinate these prints to start some jars but I should just go find some ovoids and dump then in a cardboard box and leave it outside

You forgot gymns!
I just need to find tampenensis and pluteus! I'm close to have found all Georgia has to offer!
Yes this tek was so crazy easy. Ovoids for the masses!

Great finds it’s much harder to find spots to access for ovoids than caerulescens for me. Hopefully I can get some time soon to go check a few overflow creeks in the surrounding cities. Do you think creeks off the Alcovy or the Broad river would be good? Or just stick to the areas off the Yellow river?

i think if you came across them in person, you'd probably find them to look just psilocyby enough for you to stoop down for further investigation

Also spotted some of these leratiomyces nearby, which doc has mentioned before, finding them around ovoids

Absolutely perfect Evly. I was hoping you'd post something as well!
Why do ovoid gills just look way more psychedelic than others I wonder?
Mycelium around this is super duper abundant. I may need to make some more boxes.

There's a few older ones I left purposefully. You can see new ones coming up near the bottom of the cascade. And look at that mycelium around the base of this pin!

Nice day out today. Found a lil fat cube.
Leaving the void patch alone to check in a few days.
