It seems like things are winding down at least with these cooler temps. Things aren't getting as big. Most of the cyanescens are staying tiny. That big one yesterday surprised me. Ive got loads of prints to feed back to the animals. It's been a pretty good first season for me in regards to pasture actives. I'm very fortunate that they all came here on their own.

Still technically hasn't froze. Warmer days ahead as well as rain. I think we'll see more.

Wont stop nothing. Itd have to be more than 1 or 2 days of below freezing temps to stop the season.

Imagine a mushroom so rare that it only fruited once a year.
Oh wait, it’s caerulescens
Only fooling. I will say that out of the three spots I found last month, only one spot had more than one fruiting (that I caught at least)

Amazing what one evening of rain will do out there. Didn't get a chance to really hunt. I found this full grown one poking out of an ant hill. Looks like the ants may have eaten part of the gills. I noticed this younger one just starting to come up. Decided to leave it overnight to see how much it will grow. Tomorrow I'll do a good search because freezing temps expected early Sunday morning.

Well, I had to finally create an account to update you all. I was wondering if fall ovoids were a myth or not. Well, they are not a myth. Found these Atlanta ITP close to where they plan to cut down the forest to build a police practice city and recording or film area. Hope we can save this sacred forest!
only found these 3, but who knows someone else could have found others before me.
Today November 14, 2021 around 4:20pm high of 56. The soil was damp and the area was covered in briers and blackberries. Saw a turkey tail nearby as well as some odd mycelium all over the box elder logs. Wasn't ovoid mycelium to my knowledge, looked like white foam was sprayed but it was definitely mycelium.
Anyways who else has found them in the fall?

Mushrooms are my sacrament and they have told me to spread the word about their existence for all to experience who wish to commune with the holy wholeness.

Morels in the fall? I'm fairly certain they fruit exclusively in the spring season. At least in Georgia. Didn't happen to come across any, did ya 😅

I have searched that area for Caerulescens before but never found anything. I bet Ovoids are way more prevalent than we think. There are so manyQuote:

man conduit, i sure hope they are. i was actually looking for some yesterday up here in cobb, but to no avail. i still have alot of trouble differentiating box elders from all the other winged seed/vertically lined bark trees. i am getting a faint e.s.p.-ish(maybe?) signal to check my gymnopilus spots, but they no longer exist so if that signal is coming from nature or my imagination i couldnt tell you. but i will tell you i think my imagination knows my spots are gone so..... good luck out there guys!!! oh and idk about fall ovoid finds here besides yours sacrament, but the 1st post on this thread is of some winter-esque ovoid finds and i do remember seeing a post from another state about finding them coming up through the snow (or ice) cant remember
