New patch.
I found them next to a washed out area in the middle of the woods. It was a really unexpected find. Boy I could smell these all day.

You know I always thought that too until I found pounds of them. My garage where I was cleaning them, my room which is above that, and my kitchen has a dense caerulescens smell for days.... I started getting nauseous

Haha I feel you. I found a shit ton of them last year and my whole basement smelled like some sort of electric cucumber. I still enjoyed it but I guess I am not down there all the time lol.

Awesome finds guys. Pasture mushrooms have been pretty dry over this way. I did find a teenie tiny cube that was very sunbaked the other day. I checked my caerulescens spot for the first time in months and it's still barren. I'm pretty sure it truly drowned after Zeta last year. Morels I had in that same area also failed this year, aiding that suspicion.

jesus nitro that things gonna take some chewing rofl. evly may have the coolest looking finds but from what i can determine you are definitely a top contender for the guinness record of largest specimen found. speaking of coolest looking, is that shit growing straight out of concrete evly? i was going home empty handed today (like i expected i would since its been a little dry) and otw back to the car my girl unexpectedly spotted not 1 but 2 pairs of these lovely blueties

No.. way.. nitro 🤯 my newbie eyes would see that in the wild and immediately write it off as a different mushroom type. That stalk is missing its clay coloring completely and lacks that brown "nipple" at the too. Otherwise thats an amazing find. Would love some insight on how stuff like this happens, especially with rain being so fickle lately Awesome work!

check out these deformed masses of stunted caerulescens. its almost like it was forming sclerotia. they were buried in a recently excavated mound of red clay. they are weighty as hell and seem to have massive root like structures, super dark blue. im definitely burying some of these back in the yard lol look at the tiny little cap and the pins at the base (if u can tell where the base is)

heres the crazy sclerotia like structure with a massive root

Well I found the pin a week ago and decided to cover it with straw and water it. Came back in 5 days to that monster! But spore print on the cap is a good indicator. When you see purple-brown spores I would definitely take a closer look. I promise you develop an eye for caerulescens the more you see them. I can spot them from a distance now given the right habitat and timing. We will never find anything if we don’t look. Don’t get discouraged I found my fist caerulescens last yr. your time WILL come
