No-Patch Newbie finally scored!!! 2 spots found in 4 hours. All were found in pine needles in a two-three year old hood. Buckled up for safety 🤣

Feeling absolutely lucky to find these. Only 1-2 fruits per spot which is surprising. I figured there'd be more, (i spent a good 5 minutes looking around each spot for more) but I assume more rain needs to fall
Thanks everyone for your knowledge and help. First find ever.

The season literally changed overnight. I thought I'd find something out in my lot but nada. Not complaining. Just observing that when I think there should be mushrooms there aren't any. They really don't follow rules do they?!

i've read in earlier GA active threads that the first rain in a while can likely just be a "rehydration" for mycelium; in that case they hold onto the water and dont fruit much just yet. It's either that (which for my spots, likely) or we may need an extra day for more to show

Congrats Shroomzel The wind was kicking by me yesterday drying things out. I would think the colder weather would trigger the mycelium to push some good clusters out. Gonna check a few places that should be popping tomorrow..

Been working at the fair these past few days so I haven't had much time to get out there unfortunately, probably won't have much for 10 more days til it's over but I'm loving seeing you guys' finds, everything looks so tasty!
HAKR I'm gonna try that recipe at the end of this 10 day gauntlet.. it'll be a good way to reflect on everything, also beautiful harvest those things are looking freshhh! Same to you BF, gyms may not be the strongest, but they've got top notch fashion sense and have a real distinct personality.. almost witchy (in a good way) characteristic, or that's the way they've presented to me.
Everyone else is killing it with the pans and weilii, I'm doing my rain dance every moment I get..
I've got some good pics (gyms are definitely show-ers) from another flush/harvest of that patch that I'll post tomorrow, planning on stopping back by in the morning to see how it's doing, but for now, goodnight!

Someone on this thread said to not give up on area that looks good. That is good advice. I found one small bunch last year about this time in this location and had looked a good bit but only found them in that one spot. Today they were found in three spots nearby. All very close to a paved trail and all in a shaded area.

Was not expecting to make any finds. Happened upon these. They're little. Last rain two days ago here. But next day temps went down to low 50s at night.

They'll pop again! I have found pans in sub freezing weather in late December. I find with my patch they will stop for a week or so and then be right back at it with a heavy rain. The best year I ever had was just after a hurricane when we got hella rain and very cool nights, seems like pan cyans like to "shock fruit" in my experience.

Hello fellow Georgia hunters! I'm new to being an actual member of this message board, but have been reading stuff on here on and off for years. I started getting into researching, reading, and hunting this year, even if I consumed my first set of boomers in 1996 (Phish Halloween at the Omni).
Anyway, for the last month or so, I've been out hunting most days, mostly away from my town, but 3-4 days ago I decided to check out the area just outside my neighborhood. A neighborhood was put up 3-4 years ago less than 1/4 mile from my house, so I decided to walk off the sidewalk and into the landscaping, grass, and pine straw, and I scored!! I went through this Georgia Thread several times over the last month, and I learned a lot, and was inspired by you guys, so I want to thank you all for the inspiration. I feel lucky to have scored this batch on my first successful hunt.

Thanks Nitro and MentalPariah! Happy to be here. By the way, I live north of the perimeter. Oh, and sorry about the long vertical line of pics. I need to learn how to post horizontally.

Awesome page of finds. FOMO is kicking back in.
Is it worth going out on a dry week to look for new spots? And if so, I assume best chances are for either woodland or well watered lawns?
