Hang in there!!! Last season I think everyone found a patch that looked. This year seems like it's gonna be crazy based on current conditions. Hell, the chanterelles are a month early this year so the caerulescens should be fucking insane!!

What county where these? I’ve been checking mushroom observer too and agree with Evly that these are the first official ones.

Thanks, guys... funny enough, Cobb. I have a pretty (apparently) reliable spot that I discovered last year.

Cool little find. Checked a few spots the other day day here and nothing yet for me. And found out I do still access too the 400acres. Just someone they lease to hunt seen me on their trail cam. And the owners arent worried about me being out there, they never sold any of the land to the forestry,

Thanks. They are in my in-laws lawn and they just mowed - I had to scrounge for a while for them. I thought they might have fungicided, but if they did, they missed a spot.

Guess now you have a real reason to visit the inlaws huh?
Congrats on kicking off the season K-dubs!

nooice!! im happy and jealous at the same time!! it was in cobb?!? now you can add incompetent, left out, and hopeful to those feelings. those look like them grassy lawn boyz, small but effective hehehe, even if you can only find one . were they at a tree line in some shade, or flat out middle of yard baking in the sun? i got a friend that use to go by k, you wouldnt happen to be him would you? hit me up with a pm my nizzle if that is you shizzle. i been checking my one-time confirmed caerulescens spot with no luck. (do yall pronounce that c at the beginning with an s or a k?) I been scanning every houses yard/woods ive worked at and have only found non-actives this year, there was a huge variety in those finds though, except of course for the lacs, whose indications have indicated only failure for my ass so far, but that could definitely be due to my lack of expertise/experience. aww shnap! you bout to hook us up with some of those habitat pics Mr.BC?!?!

Ha - no, I am not the same person. I just started doing this last year, and I am way too chicken to meet up with anyone else so far. I have heard Cobb is a dead-zone - at least we were all complaining last season. I was SOL for the first ~9 months, and then I got extremely lucky when I went out in my in-laws' backyard last September and randomly thought to check. (Yes, now I like to visit -but I am not that inconspicuous and they think I am looking for lizards and other made up stuff when I am scouring their lawn I need to up my game.)
The ones I found last year looked as scroungy as these b/c they had recently mowed, but they were alll overrrrrr. Their neighborhood is only like -3 years old, so pretty textbook. They hide in the grass a little, but once you find them, you know where to check. Don't give up!
These were in the backyard (bermuda grass, I think) on a sloped part of the yard and had some degree of shade from a small tree that is growing. We had rain in the past week too (at least from when I found them).

Think the ticks must hang around the tops of some the longer shoots. This is the third time i've found one on my neck walking through here. Also found a pile of some animal's guts with no other noticeable remains
someone just gutted a deer and took the rest home to butcher... not sure season there but normally season is in the fall for a variety of reasons, sex is easier to tell and then dont kill mom with a baby as no horns early in spring so could be a poucher.. normally birds and mammals make day or 2 work of guts.
cheers, ps so jelous of u buggers and those voids, in the void noid here... er void void i mean lol... dominos??
