Rapping is just talking using monotone with a melody and beat playing in the background, with a slight change in tone for words that the rapper wants to emphasize.
The context for most rap "songs" are drugs, hos, or poppin' people.

'Singing is just (fill in the blank) using a change of tone and pitch.'

There is throat singing, and practically anything can be made into a musical instrument.

I was watching an Asian professor discuss how the five philosophical elements should be found in their music, and how Western pop music was considered monotonous. In a manner of speaking, our bad music was like rap to him.

Huh, I don't find that at all. I'd say most rapping has a similar tonal range to conversational speech. A monotone with slight changes in tone certainly is not characteristic of all rapping. Maybe present day autotune shit

The Fat Boys Human Beat Box New York Hot Tracks 1984
Harpo, Marx Brothers' mute character:
Some people say it was the first rap:
Quote:
"Prisencolinensinainciusol." That's not a typo; in 1972 Italian pop star Adriano Celentano wanted to mimic what English sounds like to non-English speakers.
Garcia said that rap was language-specific.

One example is understated and probably pretending to be more poor than he really is. Another is being overstated and gold plated.

Language notwithstanding, people could just drum on random crap for fun.
Some philosophers are using the word singular, for when it doesn't actually have to relate to anything.
Except, you're usually not doing it in that spirit.

i kindof hate ween but mostly bc the fans. they have like 8 millions songs but 20 are very really good and those 20 songs are better than all 8 billion beatles hits.

Pushing up daisies is when you are dead yet juxtaposed with positive thinking.
Mushrooms, cucumber, and melon were vaguely sexual in the presence of a sex interest.
In my subjective interpretation.
They are not dead maestros; someone could just ask.

Unquestionably it's still music though.
its like very very complex hold music for a shitty internet company. very well produced drivel.

The Mollusk is a pretty solid album. White Pepper also has some sever bangers, like the opening track. Ween is this ridiculously capable band that chooses to write avant garde shit, but I think that’s part of the appeal.
In short, I am indeed a Ween fan.
