Got this really cool formation in a recently cracked open Lion's mane jar.

These formations are what I love most about this genus, and why I really hope to eventually grow bear's head tooth, coral fungus, etc. as opposed to Lion's mane.

That's a 12 oz 3/4 pint jar. The intent for that jar was originally just making sawdust spawn, this fruit is just a cool bonus.

Be careful with that it may have fruited due to contamination it is trying to outrun. A sub will usually not fruit until it is fully colonized. But will fruit early if it has contamination because it wants to drop spores so it can continue its life cycle.

Of course, that is LM and it may be fully colonized. LM is hard to see.

Oh yeah, this one has been colonized for a while. I decided to loosen the jar lid to let it fruit. That's a solid cake.

Ok I just didn't want you to do transfers from it if you weren't sure.
