There’s the motivation I’ve been needing to get back out! I thought the season would be toast by now.. Not the freshest looking but nice finds nonetheless. Congrats Boogieman!

I was honestly surprised to find them too, it was pretty hot out.
Should be fine that they are kind of black and crispy right? I think the heat got to them.

An extremely rare New Jersey mushroom. I'll be out on the hunt for it too later this year

Found in the meadowlands, presumably next to the stadium. One of the most polluted places on earth.

It was first found before there were any stadiums there. The more recent finding, which I don't know has been confirmed or not, was apparently found after research into the changing habitat, so potentially not even near the original area of collection

Do you think it’s worth it to check my spots after this recent rain or is the season just over? I was out all season but we didn’t get much rain and I never found any which is too bad but I guess I’ll be looking in the fall. (MD btw)

Between the ticks, poison ivy and nettle, the cost of fruitless mushroom hunting is actually quite high

Anyone have pics of this mystery species
I usually don't go hunting in thick territory this time of year because of all the ticks muisquitos and poison ivy, there are probably some nice fat clusters on the debri piles but just not worth it to me. Ill stick to the trails and mulch beds

Gunna go out on a limb and say "reasons to not mushroom hunt" on a mushroom hunting site isn't very interesting.
Graveolens seems cool. I've a tentative hunch there's other unidentified psilocybes out there. 'Spose I should find Caerulipes first. I'll be roaming the hillsides...
Good luck all and nice late season 'voids esp first time finds

May not be very interesting but there’s some truth to what koods was saying..

Hopefully Ill be back out this weekend..

Honestly, from a risk to health standpoint, mushroom hunting is probably my most dangerous activity

True, it's probably above driving [to find them] and actually ingesting them, which isn't dangerous if you're somewhat not stupid... but as an aside <2 gr last night caused the ceiling to start melting which really wasn't in the plans
