Can I clone wood/jelly ear fungus?
    #27119647 - 01/01/21 04:06 AM (3 years, 27 days ago)

I found some today, would be good to clone and make some LCs if possible.

Also, they were a little frozen, but some of the smaller ones thawed very quickly, I've put them in the fridge. Will I be able to cook some of them in a stir fry safely even though they were frozen?

Thank you:)

I tried exactly that a few days ago, when I tried to clone a quite huge specimen by cutting out some of the jelly inbetween the upper and lower "skin" of the ear.
I ended up with 4 contaminated agar dishes, but one had a little bit of mycelium growth on it as well, so in theory it should work...

I then asked google and some people were suggesting, to cut out an ear with some of the wood it is growing on and let the mycelium grow onto a cardboard that you could lay the wood onto and move to agar from there on. Sounds like it could work as well.

For the stir frying pan: I guess if they are not too old, you should be fine? I dried mine, so no idea.
