2021 - Let's rise, like a phoenix from the ashes, a reflection - What are your psychedelic resolutions? 1

Depending on where you are in the world, 2021 is already here (looking at you Australia), or you're inching closer to the simultaneously arbitrary and symbolic moment.
This year was the hardest year of our lives for many of us.
We wrestled with financial problems, crippling some of us in ways we can't imagine recovering from.
We fought through personal tragedy and depression, sometimes forgetting the glint of tomorrow's sun.
We lost people. Some passed away. Some walked away. Some of us lost ourselves.
We were, in our solitude, confronted with ourselves in ways that may have caused trepidation. Our egos challenged us, sometimes even took us over.
The cover of darkness could not be pierced As we tumbled down the vicarious corridor Under the pitch black mausoleum.
Asked to be patient by the tearing fabric concealing our third eye The gaping schism of a twisted reflection.
We wandered, disparate An intolerant individual abomination Rejecting life's parable.
But from our disposition A single particle of light Penetrating the veil of our lovely, vile intention.
This year, I hope, is the year of rebirth and redemption
My New Year's Resolutions are psychedelic central
I want to eliminate the most destructive of my vices, the same way I have eliminated alcohol, so that I may lift the veil of darkness from my eyes.
I want to do this by working more with the mushroom.
And I want to do this because, this year, I resolve to take my first heroic dose.
I want to be a better person, friend, sibling, son, coworker etc.
What are your New Years resolutions (if you care to share)? Are they centered by psychedelics?
Come and share the last thoughts of 2020 and the first light of 2021.
Happy New Years to this wonderful community! You have given me so much and have accelerated my spiritual and emotional maturity in ways I never thought possible.

Thank you for making a thread like this. 2020 definitely was one of the hardest years of my life and I’m positive it was much worse for other people all around the world. I feel so much pain for everyone who has lost something or someone this year. Or has just had a terrible year in general. I’ve had multiple covid scares within my family. Lockdown exposed all the problems in my 3 year relationship and we split up. My outlet for expressing all my feelings and my profession in-training was taken away after every stage shutdown. I turned to psychedelics for answers. I received them. Psychedelics provide a way to work though your problems by learning about what happened and why. With this being said, I’ve also made great leaps in 2020. And I reflect on these a lot during my trips. My work ethic has never been better. I feel much better now being alone than I did before. I feel like I appreciate life a lot more. I know what I really want to do with my life now. For 2021, I really want to be my best self. I want to be a more caring, empathetic, and kinder person. My sarcasm and jokes go too far sometimes. I upset people. I want to be more careful with my words. There’s a lot of things I want to do in 2021 and I think psychedelics will guide me through learning about empathy, kindness, and how to be more careful with what I say and do. I’m tripping tonight to start my New Year off right and making sure my New Years resolutions are what they truly should be this year. I hope everyone’s 2021 is amazing and full of light and love. This community truly is amazing. Cheers!

My friends, this year I will become a father. Everything upward, everything wonderful! I share my love with the world and its goodness, and reject those forces designed to constrict us. I believe in the spirit of each of us, and know that we will learn from what tragedy teaches us. Everything else to follow...

PS: I am going to have myself the first serious mushroom trip in many years this coming year.... and more

My new years resolution is for mushrooms to be a part of my life again, it's been far too long and the harvest this year was a good one.
I feel 2021 will be as good as we allow it to be.

I wish you all the very best for 2021. This last year needs writing off but I think it will live long in all of our memories. You put this year in great perspective Socrateshroom, well written. The year started with so much optimism for me; I’d kicked my depression, or so I thought, started a new well paid job, packed in the drink and weed. Then Lockdown started. I’ve been lonely, my wife has left, my life has changed inexorably.
She’s now madly in love with another. It’s definitely over. We still care for each other. But fuck me, there’s going to be a void.
But I’m hopeful form2021. New start. New life. No more alcohol, nicotine, or cannabis. I have a few bags of cannabis stored which I’ll bring out when I have mushrooms. I do plan to have regular trips in 2021. I’ve done the hard part now. Each trip will bring me new learning and new hope.
Mushrooms will save the world. \mush love, DJ Ed

Learn to work with psychedelics. I’ve had some amazing experiences in the past, but as soon as they were over I had no way to bring anything back. By taking smaller doses and learning to listen to them and myself, I want to heal and eventually quit kratom, the last thing I have not been able to quit.

Someone suggested to me that for the new year I write down all my "wins" and all my "losses" for 2020, write 3 goals I have for 2021, then write 3 ways I am going to achieve each goal. I did, and I carry that piece of paper in my wallet as a reminder. I don't post often, but I felt like this would be good to share.
Here is my list:
WINS - Pulled myself out of a deep depression - Lost over 30 lbs of weight and got into shape - Landed a good job - Started an investment portfolio - Read more books than ever before - QUIT PORNOGRAPHY FOREVER
LOSSES - Lost my marriage and my best friend - Lost my cat due to moving away - Lost my good job due to moving away - Depleted most of my savings due to COVID / job transition
MY 3 GOALS FOR 2021 1) Eliminate all remaining credit card debt 2) Grow personal investment portfolio to $10k 3) Improve physique to have and maintain visible six-pack abs
I wont go into the details of how I plan to accomplish all of these to keep it short. I personally feel like it has helped me put perspective on what my goals are and how I feel about the end of 2020 and the beginning of the new year. For example, I didn't realize that I walked away with more "Wins" in 2020 than I did "Losses" until I wrote this list.
The divorce I am going through couldn't have came at a worse time. I was informed of my wife's decision to leave me for another man 2 days before Christmas. Because I live with her in Hawaii, and all of my family is from the east coast, I spent Christmas and now New Years alone. I realized that I have only two choices; allow this to destroy me, or use this as an opportunity to start over and rebuild. I plan on leaving Hawaii by the end of January and helping my sister with her charter business in the Virgin Islands. I would also like to take mushrooms again in 2021. I have only tried it once and had a very mild experience despite being well researched in its therapeutic potential.
I don't know exactly why I feel like sharing all of this but maybe somebody can get something positive from it. I sincerely wish you all the best the New Year has to offer you. Don't allow yourself to be destroyed. We each have the capacity within ourselves to achieve our goals, and support our own personal growth. We are all seeking to become more of who we truly are inside.

I only plan to take mushrooms when I feel I "need" it spiritually. The mushroom kicked my ass this year so I'm taking a little break from mushrooms. I might drop acid again in the near future, or I might just wait until after winter when the weather is warmer.

Wishing you strength in your loneliness and loss of a loved one. I sure know how that feels. Had it happen to me a year and a half ago.
You should start some new hobby that feels like food for your soul. I recommend musical hobbies. I started singing in a choir in february and it made a big difference.

None at all.
Time is continuous the way I see it. Whenever I'm trying to change something, I do it regardless of the the number in the calendar. And I absolutely don't celebrate New Year's eve. I could go to a party or whatever. But when everyone goes crazy at midnight I literally don't understand why.

I have gained lessons from some of my trips after a long time has lapsed, looking back and understanding the meaning of the experiences.
Kratom for me was the last thing I would ever get addicted to. It made me feel so dysphoric, anything I tried doing on kratom just seemed uninteresting. I wonder if anyone else had this. Can you not just quit it suddenly, since you know that this is something you want to do? Why wait? Just stop buying more and kick it. If you have the motivation (reasons) to quit it means you are ready to quit now. And if you stop enjoying it (?) then you could kick it much easier,
