its a reach but i kind of agree. humans created a world above the natural order and now we are susceptible to spread a deadly disease across the whole globe within hours

We’re a lot better off now than any time in the past. Sure maybe disease can spread across borders faster, but we have much more control of those disease than ever. 500 years ago, a visitor from foreign lands often meant mass death and suffering for people in your community. People brought smallpox from the old world to the new world, and then they brought syphilis back to Europe, killing Europeans for centuries in the worst STD epidemic in human history. Nobody dies from syphilis or smallpox anymore.

Antibiotics and vaccines cause superbugs, just like in agriculture.  And here we are

These aren’t superbugs. They are just microbes that aren’t killed by by antibiotics anymore. Before antibiotics every bug was a superbug. You only think of them as superbugs because human ingenuity made almost all bacterial infections manageable with a pill.

I don’t think people have any clue what infectious diseases did to people a hundred years ago, when people routinely died from infected teeth or minor cuts that became infected with no way to stop the spread.

My father has a scar on his leg and I asked him about it once and he said that he had an infection and they almost had to amputate his leg but luckily penicillin had just been invented and it saved him.

Having the opinion that a disease is nature's way of eradicating people, and therefore we shouldn't do anything about it is a pretty dumb outlook overall. As if we should forego any and all survival instincts and just roll over and accept it because COVID is nature, so...

Bacterial infection is nature's way of eating you,  so... just roll over and die. No need to fight it.
