Welp, can you afford at least $1000 + a moth rent? Plus utilities ect.?

The jobs out there pay crap also if your not educated. Some of my family is in the the medical marijuana, big business has chocked out small growers.

Yea, sounds like a great place to live but unfortunately the gvment owns a lot of the lands there and the housing market is really tight.

So anyway unless you got a lot of money it's a real hassle.

More like $1500+....

Oregon decriminalized, which means you don't get a felony, but you still get a massive ticket, you get put on probation (drug tests), and have to take classes every week about what a bad man you are. And you pay for it all, so it's not just a fine. Think about it more like a DUI. You go through the system and pay thousands of dollars.

one person cannot make effective change against the forces of globohomo
for example, where I live is touted as having "perfect weather" and "so much to do"
employers leverage this to pay people the national average in their field, regardless of how overqualified they are
this does not stop overqualified people from coming in droves and taking the lower pay
what effect do you think this has on the job market for local born individuals?

lol OP
life is about way more than drugs kids! drugs are fucking bad.

while Oregon’s population represents 1.3% of the total U.S. population, Oregon’s homeless population represents 2.6% of the total U.S. homeless population. The report suggests that the state’s homelessness and housing dilemmas are the result of two converging crises. First, an inadequate housing supply and rising rents that is leaving tens of thousands of Oregon children and families at risk of becoming homeless, and second, the persistence of a smaller population of chronically homeless people in need of intensive social services as well as specialized housing.

i would add #3- mass migration over the last 15 years. its a fucking shitshow. basically californiaXseattle with more rednecks and meth

its the same way here.they pay everyone shit wages and make you fight and beg for mediocre jobs and there is nowhere to live except housing projects or a trailer somewhere with no work and gay nazi tweakers everywhere if you don't have perfect credit and rental history and its one of the whitest places in the world

Im not a minor and I worked a job for years. I might be able to work for Amazon or something they pay $15 a hour. I could always live outdoors in the summer but I would need a shower. I had a friend who lived in a car for like a month he didn't smell to good. Idk living in a tent would be really cheap.

move to oregon if you want to watch for needles pretty much everywhere like while hiking and before let kids in the playground and commute on $3-$4 gas through homeless camps to 13$/hr=11$+/hr jobs to pay for your $1500/m studio in some sketchy shithole where its always dark and wet and smells like car exhaust and human urine and feces and people are constantly trying to steal your shit or pretending theyre not from california while eating $15 gourmet ice cream cones

Idk that does sound pretty sketchy but if I buy a dirt bike I can get 30mpg. Plus theres lots of woods and it would make ordering RC chemicals legal. I want some 3-HO-PCP. But im worried if I did it I would end up in jail or something. Have you heard the sound of the police by KRS1?

Oregon is FULL of meth.

Los Angeles has decriminalized drug possession as well. Do you want to move there?

They decriminalized possession of unusable quantities of some drugs.  But if caught with residue and you've been convicted of any felony, or if you have already been caught with residue twice, or you don't pay the fine and complete the required addiction recovery program, they slap you with a class C felony and lock you up.

That sounds more like Portland than Oregon lol. Oregon's a great place to live, it's not easy though. You gotta be rich or have a side hustle. If you're inclined to work and play hard you'd like it here.

Don't move to Oregon though, it sucks.

I will admit thou, the homeless problem in city is real. Something to consider.

Homeless communities have been the norm since 2008 at least, and often before that.

I'd go so far as to say homeless communities have been a fixture of american life ever since reagan destroyed mental health care in the US.

meth is destroying lives like a plague and one of the main reasons there are school buses that stop in front of tent cities to pick up the kids. that shit is evil. it turns people into violent delusional zombies and gives the state more excuses to take more money from everyone and the cartels are making a killing on it

The only reason cartels are making a killing of it is the Meth Control Act of 2005.

Just like everything else, we exported our jobs to Mexico.

If meth was legal, there wouldn't be nearly as many problems.

I'm pretty sure the ticket for possession is only an infraction and is $100, and since possession is no longer a felony it is up to the cop.

You can pay it and that's it...or if one has an issue with addiction they have access to rehab.

It is a model similar to one Portugal has been using for over a decade now with great results.

California has done something similar in regards to possession of personal amounts no longer being a felony...A few years ago a friend of mine got caught with a full sheet of LSD, some MDMA & MDA, some DMT, some mushroom chocolates, and cannabis/hash (tho legal since he has a medical card)...He wasn't even arrested and never spent a single minute in jail, he just got some fines for drug possession and that was all.

I see this as progress  .

This entire country is full of meth.

Oregon is as twacked out as Cali is and Cali is twacked out like New Mexico is and New Mexico is twacked out like Kansas is and so on.

Meth is in every community and in all walks of life in this country from the smallest podunk ghetto to the high rises of the metro.

Meth is absolutely everywhere, in every community across this entire nation. No doubt about it.

I'd prefer to live somewhere that isn't going to lock me up in a cage or make me pay money to the "government" just because I collected and ate some mushrooms I found growing on the ground, or because I'm growing a few plants in my backyard, or because I choose to alter my consciousness with something other than alcohol & nicotine.

Many different psychoactive plants/herbs/fungi are a part of my life just as plants & such have been part of the lives of humans for millennia . Altering one's consciousness is something humans have done for ages and there's nothing wrong it. I'd much rather live somewhere that I don't have to worry about being locked up in a cage and having my life ruined for merely growing or collecting or consuming a plant.

I guess I'm a loser  .
