Unknown Orange Mushroom- Lactarius species?

Found growing in wood chips near Cypress trees. Bay Area.
My initial hunch was some sort of Lactarius species? But looking through my books I don't see anything that quite looks like it, so I'm at a bit of a loss. I did not notice any latex.
It's very pretty.

It certainly isn’t Lactarius Deliciousus as I find them often near my porcini spots and I don’t see any of the green brusing.
Hygrophoropsis aurantiaca does seem to be pretty accurate; there was one older specimen nearby that I thought looked like a chantrelle though I knew it couldn’t be given the lack of oaks or firs.
Very cool!

Did You Check The Undersides?
Always Check The Undersides To Make Sure, I've Walked Right Past A Whole Group Of Chanterelle's Thinking It Was Something Else, Then I Checked The Undersides & Found "Veins" Instead Of Gills. They Were Oddly Shaped Chants.

Yup, checked the undersides. I posted pictures too. They’re not Chantrelles. No forked gills, wrong color and no apricot smell.
I had a few chantrelle spots near me but unfortunately they burned out this year in the CA fires so I’m on the hunt for new spots.

You like Lactarius deliciosus??? They are beautiful mushrooms with cool staining, but I've never eaten one that I really enjoyed... at least the ones here on the west coast
