Are they? If so, how is it that they are a bet with one’s mind. What does this mean.
Is it like Texas Hold Em or more like Go Fish?

Existence is a bet with my mind. If I didn't occupy myself I'd eat too much, so I've been adding an addition to the garden shed.

I guess good experience/bad experience. I get your analogies but it seem overly broad for a card game analogy. Depends on the drug, amount, setting, biochemistry, frame of mind, etc.
It's been over 10 years since I got drunk or snorted anything. I think sometimes I might do some of that one day soon but it never happens. A bowl of kind is always a good bet.

That's going to greatly depend upon the type of drug, OP.

If those bets rely on experience, the rewards may be valuable imo.
The diversity is astronomical.

I’m getting more of a Texas Hold Em vibe. But I relate this to the way a person uses drugs. I’d bet most people have at least one drug they do on a regular basis sometimes a cocktail. And yes that cigarette or mt. dew counts at least in my book. It’s a different kind of bet between habitual uses and the occasional use.
I would state this - habitual use is the safer bet. You’re familiar, you know better what’s at stake regarding dosage, setting, set etc. Occasional use I guess would be the opposite of this.
The problem that arises I think is that with habitual regular use one gets so familiar and predictable with a certain drug that it could be slapping one in the face painfully and the message may be tolerated or understood to be apart of normal. Whereas with an occasional use it’s usually more obvious whether the bet has paid off or not. Regular use is sneeky. Idk where I’m going with this. Carry on

Done correctly...it is chess...
-------------------- "A warrior is a hunter. He calculates everything. That's control. Once his calculations are over, he acts. He lets go. That's abandon. A warrior is not a leaf at the mercy of the wind. No one can push him; no one can make him do things against himself or against his better judgment. A warrior is tuned to survive, and he survives in the best of all possible fashions." ― Carlos Castaneda

I like that, because there's such diversity, and often a strategy to their use.
With no strategy or research or idea of what's been taken, I've seen I'll results, bets lost so to say. But with planning and thorough understanding, I've seen good.

Sometimes psychedelics can make you think about things that you really don't want to be thinking about. With mushrooms especially you can't control your mind. When you start thinking about something negative it is like a tidal wave comes over you and you just keep getting into it. It makes you have a bad trip and then even after the trip you think about whatever you thought about in such a different way that it might be difficult to function afterwards.

Oh trust me, I get it!
Which supports my outlook that most psychs/stims are amplifiers of emotion/intention; they show you where you're presently anchoring. You probably do the same thing, unconsciously, on baseline awareness without realizing it to such a degree; the drugs amplify "weak spots" so they're blatantly obvious to the tripper, lol.
