Why getting less rhizo? I kept all the plates after transfers just to see how they recover, and in case I needed to post this...
I have done 1 clone tissue transfer then 2 A2A transfers. All plates poured same time same recipe, 20g agar 14g ME 1000ml water and 5mg gent
First plate growth was good. Second plate set had some of the strongest rhizo I have had so far. Transferred from the ropiest rhizoest parts and now 3rd plates have transparent fluff. My first plates i used only 1/3 of the dish (crap plates, crap pouring, long story). Now you see what I've got. I did take multiple cuts from next to one another from the second to third plates (only showing one of the "transfer from plates here in pics) because that's where it was most rhizomorphic so I could get more wedges to make grain masters. Anyway, feel like I messed something up but maybe this just happens...

Clines go from a switch from tertiary mycelium back to a vegatative type of growth, the initial leap off to the low nutritional source of agar plates tends to draw out that initial stretch before it settles in, it can really go either but so long as its clean it doesn't really matter as long as its not crawling like a fucking snail, the real goal here is a clean culture it doesnt have to be sexy to perform well

Rizo is cool & all but beauty is in the eye of the beholder. This little ugly duckling throws 300 + gram fruits & 200% BE consistantly.

I almost did not run the sector based on looks but am glad I said Fuk It.

I couldn't agree more. The strain I work with now is my best producer I've ever had and it looks average at best on the plate. The best looking one put out what I always refered to as ramen no matter the conditions and got trashed.
