Blewitt on sandy soil?
    #27111783 - 12/28/20 07:51 AM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Hi, I hope everyone's ok. I found this purple mushroom growing on my backyard on a mount of sandy soil that was brought here a few months.

The cap is about 7 or 8 cm im diameter (3 inches) purple with kind of a metallic shine (probably from being too dry).

The gills are crowded, purple just as the stem which is bulky and fibrous. This specimen was a bit dried up so I didn't notice any particular smell. I was able to take a very faint spore print which is white, Lepista personata maybe? I've only found blewitts in the woods so this was a bit of a surprise.

A few others that have been growing here:

Bird's nest

Agaricus sp

Morels (a small patch grew for the first time last spring and this autumn 3 different patches grew on separate places and slightly diferente soils)

I'm in Algarve (Portugal, south of Europe) it's in the same hardiness zone as California.

Lepista nuda for the first one. You should be able to detect the smell if you cut the flesh.

CR's location is in Italy:tongue2:

Isn't L. nuda supposed to grow in the woods?
