pasteurization process - not worthy?

Is the pasteurization process I'm following not worthy?
Using a big cooler, 400g Coir, Vermiculite 2 Qrts , Diatomaceous earth 2 Tbs, Add cocco coir and verm, but not all Add hot water from tap ~160F, but not all, ~1 Liter Check Field Capacity and adjust. Wait until cool enough to put in 4 Shoeboxes, 85F (3 hrs)
Because in researching casing, I see some much more involved pasteurizing ways. I got the pasteurization idea from ShaperDreaming Shoebox Tek
Or is it a case where PE or APE are slower and pasteurization needs more serious steps? Fahtster casing PE... by TedsDead
Also for casing, I'll try Jiffy Mix first, .5-.75" after colonization. Just sayin...this is for APEs and LAGM...

Nobody pasteurizes coir anymore.
Hydrate your coir to field capacity and use it.

Or add boiling water too it, that seems to be the most common rn I think. Bucket Tek info. I've been doing 1 part coir and 5 parts water by weight I think. Check out BOD everything in one spot link or even bhodis bucket Tek. I would read all his shit if I were you. Since my scale is kinda janky, the one I have now, I'm adding my booking water, then using verm or more water to hit field capacity. Add verm if it's too wet. Coir does not need to be pasteurized, but adding heat to the coir is potentially beneficial to the mycelium and fruits.

Really? I didn’t know (just got started this summer) and used boiled/boiling water to hydrate the coir bricks, and let it sit (mixed with the vermiculite) in the cooler for a few hours. I know this works well because I’ve regularly prepared too much substrate, and the rest sat in the cooler for weeks without any growth at all.

I used to over prep sub and it would sit outside for weeks, I think that was my problem because hydrated it holds alot more bacteria than an if it were dry and compressed sitting outside in a bag. I would try and hydrate only what you need, also you can use a spawn ratio from 1::1 to 1:4, ideally for me, so if your a little under or over it doesn't matter that much.

Really?
We promise. https://www.shroomery.org/forums/showflat.php/Number/26905736
Hot water works great. No sense in waiting for a pot to boil.

And pasteurization is Pasteurization. Some say 160-170, some say 150-160. 1hour seems to be the consensus, but a casing for pe is the same casing for whatever. Pe likes a casing because it is a slow grower and is more prone to growing out, but also because they seem to like more fresh air which is easier to introduce with a casing layer providing additional humidity to compensate for the additional fresh air. Your Gunna use peat and lime? I would do a peat casing with lime.
Also you may want to look into casing methods for pe also, I know I've read ted's thread, and idk if I can recall him patching it. But there's a recent thread around her talking about it getting patched for like 5 days or something, then letting it break to like 30% then fruiting. Idk. Ideas. Good luck!
You'll probably want to add much hotter non the less also cause depending on your room and coir start temp, that's going to drop immediately.

Ha ha! Not for four shoeboxes kimosabbi!
Thanks Filthy But I think I didn't contrast what Ted and Fahtster are doing. My point was, there's is so much more work, it seems it must be necessary.
