Contamination? What is this? Metabolites and Bluing
    #27110154 - 12/27/20 05:25 AM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Hello,
my distant friend has some weird looking mycelium. The strain is Mazatapec. The grain in the first pictures (Jar 1 + 2) was inoculated with LC (made from spores). One other jar (Jar 3) was directly innoculted with the spores. The growth in the first weeks looked very good and healhty. After it reached the top of the jar / grain it got weird. It started bluing and some jars have metabolites on certain spots.

One jar (Pic: Jar 3) is definitly much to dry so he thinks the bluing is caused through dryness. But the other jars (Pics: Jar 1 + 2), inoculated with LC where very wet and also started bluing. Additionally they started to secrete metabolites ...

Do you think this is a sign of contamination? Can he just go on and inoculate bulk substrate with them? What is happenening?

Thanks for your help ;-)

Never make lc from spores, nor should grain be inoculated with spores.Just lost a month.
