I dropped PESA from FK on agar last week! Did you make any transfers first?

Left town for a few days... thought I would be back in time.

Should I just toss these?

First tub looks salvageable, second tub... not so much.

I’d still keep em.. grind em up make chocs or tea.  That’s a lot of work to toss because of spores

Nice bro! I’m thinking about just waiting for my plate to pin cause it’s got bacteria and I don’t have the time to get the sab out very often.

I appreciate the input Filthy and Faht.

I'm bummed cause these are my first monotubs (56qt) and they both had a solid pinset and i'm sure looked lovely two days ago.

I'll look into making chocolates

I have washed caps off before a harvest... it can be tedious but it's doable... just floated the sub outta the tub and hit em with the sprayer thing next to the faucet...

Edit: pic thread...

Look at the shoulders on this dude!

Those are super pretty, RK.

Finally got around to grating a pf cake to CV   CRS (I think—might be pfrs.. I knocked up the cake with one of those two and PE SS.. not expecting anything but a normal cube). At least now I can say I did it haha

These PE spelt bins are gonna be banging.. very rarely do I see more than a few aborts in a PE tub so all these pins have me excited
. .

I thought I might lose all the bins because I bought shitty jiffy mix that molded out after a couple days.. luckily the only thing I used it for was a last thin layer for patching.. I literally vacuumed off the molding layers with a vacuum attachment hose.. you can kinda see in the last pic where I got a little too close to the surface and sucked a divet out of the bottom right corner (where those three smaller fruits are grouped together—they filled the hole )

Here’s the RW glc grains that I just used that were dried out for 2 months... they’re growing myc again after the grain absorbed some of the water I left in the jar after taking the myc water for qts.. pretty neat how resilient myc is

Before taking its myc:      After reabsorbing/regrowth:
.

I could add a bit more water to the jar and wait for more growth and take the grains to a small handful of CV in a half pint or something but I’m gonna just toss them.. just want to show how they start to regrow.  That PE culture above was stored dry the same way for 6 months over the summer

Trying my hand at something bigger than a shoebox. I originally planned on doing 16 shoe boxes and decided theres no way I have time for the up keep. I chose to go with an unmodified tub because it should be fairly similar to working with a shoebox. I was also able to do 2 more shoeboxes before running out of coir. (I know, my liner looks like shit.)

Spawned most of these and had 2 jars left over that will likely get g2g. (The jar furthest to the right looks funky cause it was a master jar that was 3 weeks ahead of the rest.)

I went with a 1-4 spawn to sub ratio. The last shoeboxes I did were 1-2 and they all blobbed out.

Really dense pinset on these amvp, I just hope they are bigger than the ones my shoebox produced. If not I’ll be forced to abandon this one. Which is unfortunate as it performed beautifully on agar and I have a few LC going as well.

Anyone know what causes this? Similar to what my TOC was doing in a shoe box slightly less blobbed. too much spawn, yeast, something worse?
