Crazy times 2020.

How strange that there was audio countdown warning, grateful there weren't any casualties as of yet.

The terrorists hijacked a 5th plane on 9/11 and it just now finally crashed. All this rv nonsense is just a coverup.

Lol, I actually just came by to post this. There is already a drone strike narrative spreading on Parler about how it was designed to damage the AT&T building, which was supposed destroy any evidence of election fraud that CNN is hiding.

Maybe taking down the ability to call 911 or use cell service for a bit had a specific reason.

Maybe there was a high profile robbery or murder in the immediate area that hasn't been uncovered yet.  After all and gun shots were heard, It happened on X-mas day and local communications were down from the blast along with the blast keeping the response teams busy.

Ether way it seems someone knew what they were doing so far. Guess will see as it unfolds.

Nah, I don't think so.

Anything that was high profile enough to need an explosion that big, we would know about already. If you're using an explosion as a distraction, then you're doing some serious shit, and people are going to notice immediately. Hence the explosion as a distraction.

The combination of gunshots (which I'm assuming was actually a recording), countdown, time, and location tells me that there was an intent to avoid casualties. If they wanted to kill people, they'd have waited until New Years and picked a busy street.

To me, this smells like a Tyler Durden wannabe trying to do their own Project Mayhem.

Except, unlike Tyler Durden, I think there's a lot of incompetence. Not to say I think Tyler Durden was particularly competent, but, ya know, Deus Ex Machina. Based on the (very few and very grainy) videos I've seen, I'm thinking badly mixed ANFO at best, if not just a straight AN fertilizer bomb. I'm leaning towards badly mixed ANFO because of the incendiary effect of the bomb. Unfortunately, there isn't much data on how close the police were standing, but assuming the guy that lost his hearing was standing in the open street, say, 200 feet from the vehicle, which would be approximately at the end of the block (I figure even a cop is smart enough to stand at the nearest cross street), we're looking at...~200lb of TNT equivalent, which translates to ~270lb proper ANFO, or ~500lb of AN/badly mixed ANFO. This jives with the need for an RV--500lb of fertilizer bomb is gonna take up the trunk and backseat of a sedan, making it a bit too obvious.

I don't know the extent of the structural damage, nor do I want to take the time to draw out a blast reflection diagram to calculate based on the reports that the explosion was felt "nine blocks away".

Now, if you're trying to raise a few pulses and nothing else, such as for a distraction, 20lb TNT equivalent will be more than enough to bring every first responder and their dog to the scene. That's a briefcase bomb. Much easier to transport, much easier to hide, much easier to acquire, and it will still blow out every window within several hundred feet, which is going to make headlines. Most people don't know how much bomb it takes to do how much damage, windows break easily, and a street full of broken windows makes people think of Baghdad post-application of freedom and democracy.

The fact that we're looking at a bomb ten times the size makes me think the building was the target, especially since AT&T has been getting flak in some circles as they own CNN (through a subsidiary). The fact that the building is still standing tells me the bomber doesn't know the first thing about demolitions, nor the importance of placing explosives strategically around load bearing structural supports (preferably surrounded by walls to contain and focus the damage), and learned the fine art of the car bomb through Hollywood movies. Which is actually kind of sad, because ISIS has freely distributed very detailed and very good tactical manuals for how to properly implement a car bomb for various purposes. Just a complete lack of intellectual curiosity, or any sort of pride in their work.

Overall, based on my guesses as to explosive, the apparent unwillingness to cause deaths, and the placement of the bomb compared to the size of the bomb, I'm thinking some guy that's a little short on brain cells. Considering the old ass RV, and the easiest places to get bulk fertilizer, I'm guessing they know both a junkyard owner and a farmer. Which makes me think rural life. Which also kinda explains the anti-AT&T circles, if I was to use some stereotypes.

Oh, and as for the potential remains, I don;t think it was the bomber. If it was the bomber, the RV would have blown shortly after arrival. If they are human remains, I'm guessing it's a loose end. Potentially the farmer or junkyard owner. Or both in one body!

EDIT: I came across this thread a while back, and it was good for a laugh. I'm guessing I just added a whole lot of fodder for speculation.

I had the same suspicion about it being a cover for another crime.  Doesn't seem like they wanted to kill anyone but damn that thing did some serious damage.

It sounds like the ATT hub was the target, but until we find the little-boy’s-festo we won’t know for sure. Maybe there will be more attacks on network hubs like this? That would be fun.

Last I saw they found human remains.

I’ve seen reports the NSA was running something through an ATT office, so maybe there’s a foreign hacker angle. Hard to say man they never divulge the motives in shit like this anymore. Remember the Vegas shooter? Zero closure.

The 29 story windowless "AT&T" building in NYC (33 Thomas St.) is definitely an NSA hub, probably safe to bet multiple intel agencies have their hands in the pot of all these transmission and data centers.  This Nashville one was a nondescript building according to MSNBC and it's unlabeled on google maps as of now anyways. Looks empty with No Trespassing signs on the street level windows on street view. I'm sure you're right and we will never really know.  Weird shit going on with it for sure.

Edit: I was looking at the wrong side of the street, definitely says AT&T no windows down low

Vegas shooter had closure, of sorts. Just another shooter with a bunch of right wing nonsense on his social media. He was just smart enough to sanitize it. We'd moved on by the time that was revealed, though, since a several month investigation doesn't fit in a 24 hour news cycle.

Foreign hacker angle doesn't make any sort of sense. Blowing up a city street only calls attention, while hacking is an inherently sneaky endeavor. If the goal was to destroy evidence of foreign hacking, then they'd almost certainly send a competent demolition team/cleanup crew. As is, there appears to be no serious damage from the blast. Lots of cosmetic damage, lots of broken windows, probably needs a fresh coat of paint, but no structural collapse. I'm sure they'll send in a few mine engineers to check for structural damage before they're back in business, but I'd guess some new windows, new paint, and that entire street will be humming by the end of January.

Literally nothing about this attack suggests any sort of competence, unless the entire point was just to put the local window people back in business. As I said earlier, I'm guessing that the remains found at the scene are either the guy that supplied the fertilizer or the RV. Just a loose end.

Actually, I'd go so far as to say that the lack of damage might make the perpetrators less likely to release any sort of manifesto or claim credit.

nothing about any of this makes sense, and the interviews with authorities, their mannerisms, pace, and word choice make the situation seem all the more suspicious.

it's downtown Nashville.  Tissue could be from any stray pet/feral animal, a homeless person, a bird, etc....

again, nothing the authorities or news outlets have said has any sort of logic or cohesion from story to story.  there's a 1 hour gap in the published "timeline" and very little is revealed yet of what occurred.

911 services were (are still?) down for surrounding communities outside of Davidson County, as well as some internet services in Nashville.  My family in town tried dialing just to see and the 911 circuit was not online.

"AT&T" Hummm wonder if 5g (or people hating it) had anything to do with this.
Really considerate of whatever nut to play that warning to be honest. Glad it wasn't a 'kill as many people as possible' type deal.

Most likely, the person who placed the bomb vehicle fired shots into the air as he left the vehicle parked in order to wake people in the neighborhood.  He/she may have thought that the recording wouldn't be enough to ensure that everyone got the message.
