Question about sterilized Mason jars

I have three previously used Mason jars that I have had soaking in a dilute bleach solution ( a quarter teaspoon of bleach in 500 mL water) for a couple/three weeks, with the lids screwed on tight. One is a plastic jar lid; the others, metal rings and lids. My plan is to fill these up with hydrated WBS and sterilize them in a PC.
Is there anything I should do to these jars before filling them w/ grain besides dumping the bleach solution down the drain and draining them upside down in the dish rack until they're dry inside ?

Rinse the hell out out of them since you soaked them in bleach. Soaking them in bleach solution for weeks is DEFinitely not needed.
The PC will do all the work to sterilizing the jars.

Yeah, definitely make sure you wash out that bleach very well.

Don’t forget to modify the lid with a hole and Polyfill, watch out for bodhisattas Polyfil Lid Tek. Or you try pastywhytes unmodified lid tek.

Folks here use little bleach. Its hard on everything alive, including us. Soapy water for the win.

I just rinse jars out and load them back up. No need for soap even unless they sat a while or were sticky somehow. Spawn, rinse, load, pc, repeat.

No, there isn't.
Next time, however, don't bother to soak them for weeks. They are glass and don't absorb anything that could foul a grow.

Plus the whole idea is you’re going to sterilize them anyway. You could really load up a jar with an inch of mold on the bottom and still be fine.

Thank you for the advice. I am now soaking them in plain chlorinated tap water for 24 hours before re-using them for grain spawn.

Seriously you’re wasting your time doing anything else... rinse the jars out and when you fill them back up with grain, just wipe the rim off with a wet hand towel

Okay, I got the message. I just dumped the water out of the Mason jars. Some, but not all, had a faint bleachy smell. They are upended in my dish rack and will be dry by the time I get another batch of WBS hydrated. Which tek should I use to prepare (hydrate & sterilize) WBS in 1-qt. jars ?
