HELLO SHROOMERY π This is my first grow, I've been reading this forum for a year now and its my first post also, Thank u all for such great informations and environment. Well I wanted to design my monotub in a way that I could set it and forget it but when the pins started to grow I felt like they are too skinny and in a need for more FAE so I cut some new holes and replaced the micropore with poly and I hope I'll get thicker fruits for the next flush. But I'm also concerned about the moisture of my grow, idk if its too wet or too dry! Pins are dark headed at first and don't grow so much till they become mature! After full colonization of my sub I gave it a heavy mist and introduced to the fruiting condition, I wanted to keep the door close till the harvest but I had to open the lid to cut new holes, so gave it some more misting as I just thought mishrooms love waterπ , but its not good if they are gonna suffer from too much of it. What should I do to be sure of my moisture level ? If the sub is glistening in the pic its because I've just misted an hour ago
BTW I dont know what strain( variety ) am I growing π, what is it help me out, seems like they don't have any veil ! I cloned them from a dry mushroom I got from a dealer who claimed it to be PE but they aren't i know

Looks healthy to me. If you got shrooms and they look happy, you succeeded. There's no need to keep your FC sealed until fully colonized though. Most people here go straight to fruiting conditions after spawning. Looks like it worked for you though! Very nice first grow
Moisture and surface conditions look π

What was your process for cloning a dried fruit?

well i need to adjust everything in a way that i can go though the hole fruiting stage without opening the lid. because i sometimes have some guests that gonna stay for a few days and i dont want then find out about my grow. so i need to have the right fae and moisture in place.
i cloned the dry fruit in two ways.
1st : opened the stem (without cutting it with a scalper couse u might invite the surface contaminations thorough the stem) cut a tissue with flame sterilized scalper from inside of the stem where in wasnt exposed to air,and cloned it to agar.(a bit more watery recipe for this agar). it works if the fruit isnt dried aggressively and under so much heat.
2nd way :if ur fruit seems very dry or dirty : sterilize water in 3 different container, let them cool down, add bleach to one of them 1/10 ratio (10 water 1 bleach) put ur tissues in the solution and shake very well. u wash the surface contaminations in this way. dont let them sit there fore more than a few minutes, i done it in less than 3 min i guess .then put the tissues to the next container and again shake well, in this stage u wanna wash of the bleach from them. then put them in the third container.in this stage they are relatively free from surface contaminations and also bleach and gonna stay there a bit to absorb water, when the tissues look a bit fuzzy move them on agar and hopefully the myc will grow.
some people use gentamycin to create anti bacterial agar for this, but i didnt have access to it. but i had success using the two methods anyway.
learned the second way from RR BTW, thanks him
