One of the things that really matter in life is family mr. Barnaby.
Holidays to me ARE celebrating what is important
When youre so busy with life its nice to get a day off from it all to enjoy what is important and make a festive out of it
But thats just me
I enjoy a dedicated day and time to remember what is important and prioritize family in ways we cant everyday because we are roo busy trying to keep this all going

Christmas ebbs and flows, when you are a kid it is awesome but also can be a let down. When you are in your 20s and a normal year it is party after party and debauchery with a visit to the folks thrown in. When you have kids it becomes a huge effort with the rewarding joy you remember reflected in your child or children and reignited inside you. When the kids are older and they are doing jello shots with their cousins instead of playing with their toys it is a social thing more than anything else, as the parent you begin to realize the kid's presence is your present, knowing how little you wanted to be involved at their age. This is where i am at now, the wife and I successfully did not buy each other anything and instead gave to a few charities. We spent all day Xmas eve and the days before preparing for the holiday, buying food, cleaning the house, finishing home improvement project and preparing food for the 5 or so hours we got to spend with the smaller than usual family group as the host. I look forward to future christmas' when I might have a grandchild or two running around with kids of the same age and again see and feel that reflection of being a child on christmas.
Sorry i am sappy, been a rough few years with far too much loss to not treasure family

Bring back medieval christmas. 2 months of feasts and parties capped off with 12 days of gift giving, then a week of quiet roll down until welcoming in the new year.

OutsideOfMyMind said: I don't like that Thanksgiving and Christmas are so close to each other. They are the biggest holidays of the year, I think they should be more spread apart. Thanksgiving or Christmas should be in the summer and then the other one should be in the winter.
They should just celebrate thanksgiving and Christmas together maybe move thankzgiving over to Christmas lol
Thanksgiving and Christmas are practically the same holiday anyway.

ironically as I get older christmas gets better. As a kid I was too emotional, and I was always sad preemptively because I knew soon xmas would be over... I don't know why but I always worried about death and how fleeting everything good in life seems to be...
for whatever reason I mellowed out a lot since then

CHEER UP MATE! 2020 is almost done.
Wow, she could really pull off a full body suit.
And this guy is not going to have a fun new years eve! Reading the news this morning like the old days. And yeah, he was driving on the wrong side of the road in a snowstorm.
https://www.ksl.com/article/50074934/drunken-man-was-driving-wrong-way-on-i-15-during-snowstorm-uhp-says
Shane Daniel Coles, 52, of Ogden, was booked into the Iron County Jail for investigation of DUI, aggravated assault, reckless driving, being an alcohol-restricted driver, driving on a revoked license and having an open container in the vehicle.
In addition, Coles had three outstanding warrants at the time of his arrest, according to police affidavit.
Drink Responsibly. Lol. Wonder what his three "outstanding" warrants were for. I like that word they use in law. Guy didn't pay or show up. Put it bluntly.
