G. junonius doesn't grow in North America, it's a gymn, maybe something like G. dilepis

G, junonius typically grows in clusters and have yellow-orange stems, and a membraneous veil.

I think I see a purple tinge in the stem here, suspecting some kind of Cortinarius species.
If Gymnopilus, I'd suggest something closer to G. sapineus or G. penetrans.

Thank you for the input y'all!

Anglerfish: I'm thinking the purple tinge must be a white balance problem. The myc was snow white and
on the pic it doesn't look like that at all. Old ass iPhone

The purple-red toned on the stipe rule out G. sapineus group imo

Maybe that purple from the stem is really there but it is slowly fading to orange-brownish ? And the redish cap slightly becoming orange.
Maybe its this one
