Instead of encouraging the use of the big punch bowl Trump shits in the small one that was put on the table.

Nah, I think Trump just wants more donations to his super PAC/slush fund.
If he gives people $600, they'll have 600$ to give. If he gives people $2000, they'll have 2000$ to give.
I'm about 99% certain that is the beginning, middle, and end of his thoughts on the subject.
It's what I'd do.

No, I don't think so.
It's too generous. It implies that there is a road to kick the can down. Congress, sure, you're right. Both parties are trying to kick the can down the road until there is a clear advantage that someone can use for political/monetary/both gain.
I seriously don;t think that Trump realizes other people are people. I sincerely believe that we are all sitcom characters/cardboard cutouts to him. I'm pretty sure that his worldview is that life is a TV show, he is the star, and over the last four years, he's had serious trouble processing why people might be pissed at him when he's the star of the show and therefore should be always the hero.
I mean, I kinda think you're all figments of my computer's imagination and that I'm the hero, but what do I know?

This is my take on the Democrats jumping on board Trump's idea of a $2000 check. It's not going to happen, but it could definitely shift undecided voters in the Georgia Senate runoff.

Do any of y’all really think that the Democrats controlling the house, senate, and executive will translate into anything meaningful?
Leadership is already going back on the promises they did make, what makes any of y’all think they’re gonna start following through on ones they haven’t made?

Yes. Hell of a lot better than the crap that you get with divided government.
Divided government produces garbage that nobody likes

Divided government does nothing.
United government does things people don’t like.
And we can dispense with the Supreme Court argument now because that’s over.

Who could have predicted that the unanimous consent motion would fail? Even the most master negotiator could not have foreseen this, surely.

She called his bluff and the republicans knocked it down.
What else is she supposed to do? Bring everyone back to DC at the last minute because the president changed his mind after the bill his people negotiated passed?
The blame for this chaos belongs with one person

No. That is absurd. You think people can magically find airline seats on Christmas Eve? To do what? Pass a bill they already passed months ago that will go nowhere because Mitch McConnell isn’t going to bring the senate back in session and the chances that trump is doing this in good faith is exactly 0%
Your combination of cynicism and naivety is even more adorable than The Estatics

On the contrary: my expectations are actually so low that Biden if Biden only follows through on the woefully inadequate stuff he does promise, like the $50k student debt forgiveness, would be enough to give him credit. I gave him credit for a halfway decent cabinet appointee because the bar is so low.
Reinstate glass steagal. Impose a wealth tax. Forgive student debt. Meaningfully expand Medicaid and/or SS.
But he can’t even do the stuff he said he would do like 2 weeks ago. He deliberately shrunk the $1200 stimulus check to $600 and then bragged about his capacity for compromise. The Dems are gonna go back to business as usual, and use “it’s better than Trump” as an excuse for as long as they can. I don’t see how anyone can draw a different conclusion based on what we’ve seen from the transition team thus far.

It’s absurd and you know it because it’s pointless.
The house will be back on Monday, and they will vote on the $2000. Anyone actually think it will go anywhere? Trump has checked out. He probably won’t even come back from mar-a-lago
