Be sure to give those Tamps a good shake after they've jumped off the wedges a little. Really helps to spread them throughout the jar and speed up colonization in my experience

Everything moving along nicely. Test plate growing cleaning and pots all look lively.

I'll check back in in like 5 days. Or if I get my act together and put the galindoi/tamps to grain.

4/2 Update
Alright so after doing more reading I think that the clear halos on all my plates is just happy myc in a nutrient rich environment. Took some T4's today and I've got a candidate from T3 to go to grain in a week or so.

Whytegold transfer to 8 grain jars. First time using half a plate per jar... improvements to be made on speed. We’ll see how these go. Plates upside down because of condensation, could see growth better this way haha. Guess APEU is tagging along in this WG thread. Transferred to 4 grain jars. Dipped into my second batch of jars and noticed I over boiled a bit, a little clumpy on the shake.

Took some T2s and another T1.

Nothing looks too exciting yet, but I think some of the T2s will be clean enough for grain.
Just found milo/sorghum in a feed store for the first time, excited to try it out!

So I just had a T3 TOC/APE plate pin just 7 days from transfer I think. Unbelievably fast myc it’s insane. I also spawned my first quart to coir 1:3 and dropped playa spores to agar

All good. It'll take a month at least to arrive if customs don't snag it. It's always in season down here by the equator anyway

Sweet! Looks like that condensation went away too. Right after I replied to your other post I noticed I had a 10 degree temp swing in my grow area... EVERYTHING looked wet af... jars, plates, pf pucks. I was like ‘I just told DM that his shit looked wet, now look at mine.’ hahaha! Glad those jars are looking good for you.

Haha no worries, man. I usually take pics and do cult work when the kids go to bed which just so happens to be the same time the lights turn off the area cools down. Everything has condensation by the time you guys get to see it.

Ahh I do that a lot too. I had ambitions earlier for this evening. Once we got the kids down I was like, fuck this I’m laying down too.

Relatable. I only ever have ambitions to take pics in the morning and jars are looking wet like clockwork.

Well, my last transfers didn't grow out as nicely as I would've liked. Looks like taking them from the soft MEYA to the hard MEA did something a little wonky. They were growing beautiful and rhizomorphic and now they are a fluff bomb again. I was going to take them to grain from these plates but now I'm having second thoughts. What do you guys think?
TOC T3 & T4:

TWC T3 & T4:

My tamps on the other hand seem to love the new MEA plates. Here are some ATL#7 and Pollock:

And these Ps. natalensis I just got is crazzzy aggressive. I swabbed them on 1/27 and got a T1 on 2/2 and they already look like this:

I'd love to get some feedback on my TOC and TWC. What do you guys think? More transfers or am I alright heading to grain. Cultures are looking clean so that's all good, just not sure about the growth I'm seeing on the MEA plates.

Yeah that's a tough one. I'd have probably snagged a couple wedges from a couple of those T3 segments of TOC growth for grain honestly. As for the TWC I got some thin, weaker-looking growth on two different strengths of brf agar but they were looking good (albeit all started with a distinct, translucent, leading edge that took a bit to fill in) from T1. Went to barley and they are showing beautiful, fast growth. My print was clean AF... I bet those t4 fill in nicely.

Yeah... I'm thinking I'm going to make some pint grain jars today and use wedges from the T3. I'll probably also do another transfer while I'm at it so all my eggs aren't in one basket. Hopefully the T4 start looking better as they grow out a little more.

5 February 2021 ----------------------------------------- WhyteGold - I wasn't happy with the look or vigor from my WG plates (6.5g LME/500mL) so I inoculated another two germ plates about a week or so ago and took some new T1 transfers on the 3rd, the T1's are showing much better recovery and growth now at higher LME levels (8g/500mL).
RustyWhyte - I inoculated a bunch of jars with the RW SAGARI on the 1st and I'm finally seeing signs of myc recovery on 'em. Shaking them was a workout though so I've reduced the amount of agar in my next sleeve of SAGARI plates to 4g/500mL from 5g/500mL. A poured a new sleeve of SAGARI plates on the 3rd and inoculated all of them with my most vigorous cultures of D3's RW. D3's RW has demonstrated much better growth characteristics than my other RW lineage so I've got high hopes.
TAT - These genetics are insanely rhizomorphic and healthy. All my T2s are explosive and show no signs of contaminants. I'll be taking T3s to SAGARI plates this afternoon.
MelMac - Sadly, the T1 transfers I took from super rhizomorphic leading edges have all calmed down and lost vigor. I think the switch from 8gLME/500mL to 6.5gLME/500mL is to blame so I'll be pouring new plates for those.
Switching the LME levels up with WG, RW, MM, and TAT has demonstrated that 8g LME/500mL seems to be the sweet spot for the genetics I'm running. Reducing LME levels to 6.5g/500mL resulted in weak mycelium in all my plates that I wasn't happy with.
