I am going to germinate spores from 5 species and use the same 40 ziploc minis for this process. I'm gonna try to prove that you don't need 100's of plates to work with multiple species and variants.

My submissions for LAGM 2021 are:

Psilocybe cubensis var. Amazon PESA
Panaeleous cambodginiensis var. Jamaica (Jambos)
Psilocybe natalensis
Psilocybe tampanesis
Pleurotus citirinopileatus Prints were really poorly taken (I took them, I should know. Nothing wrong with learning from your mistakes) and gave me nothing but bacteria and mold. We're down to 4 species.

Got some T2's going to T3 and LC. Also put 2 natalensis colonies on grain to see if they will produce different results based off their mycelial structures

Been super bad about actually uploading pictures to this but I have an unexpected day off, so I'm actually updating this for real.

Gonna pull transfers and put some pokes to LC with these T2's. In clockwise order from top left we have Amazon, Oyster (not LAGM related), Natalensis, Tamps, Nats.



I have some jars and LC's that were inoculated on 1/27 from T2's. They came from stronger cultures than the ones I'm transferring today. I'm just transferring these to practice and see if they'll be any more vigorous on a different agar (switched brands with this batch).

Here we have 2 jars from 2 different natalensis cultures with different mycelial structures. 7 is the typical rhizomorphic one can expect with the species but 8 was a tomentose culture that had more a panaeleous structure than cubensis.

I completely forgot the 2 jars I spawned 2 and a half weeks ago were from LAGM plates rofl. A month ago I put 2 natalensis wedges on grain with the intention of watching the difference in growth. Well they basically took the same shape on grain so I stopped monitoring them. There wasn't enough of a difference on agar for my liking anyways, so maybe I'll run that experiment another time.

Got fruits from 2 natalensis trays. Part of the reason i like this species so much is its tenacity and willingness to grow. When the cold snap, shit oat prep and overall bad practice killed or stalled out my other LAGM cultures the nats just kept going. Bacteria ain't slowing these down

I'm switching up my agar this time as well. Last time I did MEA but since I need to prep some grains I think I'm going to use the grain soak water. Is it really just grain soak water and agar-agar?

Other people tend to dilute the grain water... ive only done it a few times... I run MEA for everything... im sure if you were feeling really froggy you could mix up all sorts of concoctions... lol

I know one thing it take a lot of work to keep a thread this busy organized, I am headed to the grocery store to pick up some mushrooms commercially to start a spore print so I am ready to compete Participate this is not a race. Or is it?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

Is it true this is a friendly thread where everyone does their own method each post is looked as innovative and welcome? Or is this a competition to really see who will be first to fruits?

Or is it a chill place to grow along with the community at your own pace? I am sure the top 3-4 will have friendly rivalry I am sure the noob growers will do their best and I am sure the expert growers are not gonna do bad on purpose?[/gradient]

No worries TigerStrike. This is totally a friendly grow co-op. As of yet there is not prize but even if there is before the end of this it will remain a friendly environment to foster learning and whatnots. That doesn't mean there will not be some assholes, we are all smartasses here, as well as some hard truths but trust you are among friends. :smile:

So everyone knows I am going rogue with no spores and more challenges I'm gonna try to get through!

So I dont have a print and I WILL start with the same conditions as you guys. Anyone printing fresh as we speak that gonna grow those same spores for LAGM, Join along Spore prints are NOT too basic to not show again lets see who else?!!!

so I am starting now to give my spore print 24 hours to fall then Alright And kicking off this LAGM 2021 with. My Wild glocery store baby bella print... So I am at a bit of a disadvantage they only had baby bellas, The openest ones were on clearance and on the way out barely. And only one with a barely open thing here I go! I had to cut awad the edge of the baby bellas to expose the gillz.



I was playing around with some photo editing and lowering size by removing backgrounds. Enjoy.


Also gonna look for really nice fresh portabello at another store asap.
