I have tried various all in one bags and spawn and substrate bags and haven’t had any luck except the beginning growth of myceluim in one spawn bag but most of the time there is no myceluim and it eventually grows mold, what do you think im doing wrong?

This is not a lot to go on. What are you using to inoculate the bags? what's in the bags? What kind of bags? How did you prepare the bags?

Can you tell us a bit more about your process, what sub/kits/etc you are using?
I feel like the common immediate answer you would get is when using pre made subs and kits, its kinda all out of your hands. A bit more info could be helpful in developing a sort of Mush Cult HACPP plan.

I am using a syringe, the bags are already put together when bought, inside the bag is rye grain and coir substrate, im not sure what material the bag is, after injecting the bag with spores I put into a box.

That was what I am worried about as I have read that they aren't as reliable but I am very new and im not sure if im messing it up. I was really hoping to avoid making everything myself and getting lucky with something pre made.

Yeah, there's really not much you can do at that point. All you have control over is the needle. Everything is the bag is there for better or worse and same with the syringe. If you are getting no growth at all then I would question the viability of the spores. I know that's not what you want to hear, but the good news is that its probably not you. I have never worked with rye but I know spores to grain is generally discouraged, but I can't say for sure that applies to rye.

I did the same with my homemade spore syringe but ordered the bags your talking about-w shit success. I went to agar and getting good looking plates THEN going to drop in one more bag and try the grain jars too with homemade substrate. You have to absolutely have clean aseptic technique and make your own still air box goodluck on the journey lol!

If you have spores left, give PF tek a shot and/or try your hand with agar. It is way easier that it first seems and definitely the way to but will take time. If you have enough, I personally would start some pf jars to get fruits sooner, and also start agar to get the most out of your spores and by the time you have more spores from your harvest you will be ready to hit the ground running.
