Spore print confusion

Can Psilocybe Allenii spore prints appear brown? I was looking over some prints I've made of recent finds and starting to get nervous, despite getting positive psilocybe ids here and on mushroomobserver. The color changes depending on the angle of view.

It can be tricky to tell "purple-brown" from just plain brown, especially in photos. It helps if you do some on foil and some on white paper. Those look like Psilocybe prints to me, but I'd have to see the mushrooms as well to say for sure.
One trick is to shine a flashlight directly on the print. To me, Psilocybe spores look lavender under direct, artificial light, but brown in natural light.

Yes, particularly on tin foil. If you print the same caps on white paper, they would all look purple brown from every angle, soooo weird.

From some angles on foil, it can even look "rusty brown" which is quite scary

Here are the mushrooms from the top row of spore photos:

I'm just psyching myself out, cause everything started to look like Galerina spores. This is my first season hunting...

The easiest way to calm down from galerina paranoia is to remind yourself that they are all bruising blue And then again, your prints match psilocybe and certaily not galeria. They are all good.
I remember my first season I went thru the same thing, I even posted it here. I'll try to find a link. That's why I only print on paper.

thanks for the link! Good to know I'm not going crazy. Definitely going to print on paper from now on.

I also will sometimes print rusty brown spore mushrooms to have as visual comparison around. Your prints look purple brown to me.
Another trick I do with fresh mushrooms is shine a bright led light into the gills and sight down the gills and then slowly rotate the mushroom. As the gills pass they foreshorten and that visually stacks the spores and the color is revealed. It’s hard to explain but try it sometime it’s incredibly beautiful especially with Psilocybes.

Psilocybe allenii, plenty of specimens will drop spores that look like that. On foil Galerina spores will have a distinct more orangey look

A lighter spore print will appear a lighter color- heavier spore print will appear a darker color
