coir prep questions

I am new to using coir as a bulk substrate. i usually use hpoo/verm. do i need to pasteurize the coir like i do with hpoo? I've also read a few threads where people just hydrate to field capacity with boiling water. i cant seem to find it now but it seems some people are just bringing the coir to field capacity with room temp water and using it as is. with no pasteurization or sterilization. I've got coir from a hydro shop if that makes a difference. hydro crunch brand.

I use the bucket tek for my coir but it's the the eco earth brick. 4 qts water, 2 qts verm and 1 brick in a bucket with boiling water. Loose coir I'm not sure.

Lots of people are using room temperature water.
I started out by using boiling water on my CVG as per the bucket tek and I had no problems so I'm sticking to it.
When I make CVG I do it in a cooler like such. 3x ~650g bricks of coir. 12 quarts of boiling water, 4 per brick. Two cups of gypsum (Fucked if I know if it does anything anymore) 6 quarts of fine vermiculite. I close the lid and fuck with it later. I mix it and let it cool overnight.
In the morning I dump it into my cement mixer and let it run for awhile to try to evenly distribute the moisture as I find gravity makes the shit on the bottom far wetter. I adjust to FC (I'm always over) by adding more vermiculite until things are good. I use what I need then dump the rest into a cooler which then sits until I need to make more CVG then I just make the new stuff on top of the leftovers. Seems like easy safety to just use the boiling water IMHO.
When I need a LOT of sub I leave a few packs of bricks out to absorb ambient moisture so they crumble easy and then make the entire works in my cement mixer skipping the cooler. Cools down much faster and is ready to go a lot quicker.

no to the pasteurize or no to the boiling water method? id really like to just hydrate and use, without having to boil water or pasteurize. but that just doesnt seem like it could work.

I use hot tap water. I just let it run till it's hot and start collecting your water.

Used to use bods cooler tek. Just switched to hot tap water, 9 days after spawning looks good so far.
The unbucket tek is what made me make the switch.
