very solid agar= no groth?

hi there
i think i mix too much agar with water and its kinda get harder than usual
twice harder but still soft to knife. what will hapenns?
and one more question.
i used pure malt extract instead of regelar ones. is there any diffrence?

I prefer my agar firm personally. Less water to condensate. Malt extract is a fine nutrient. Whether you use dark, light or extra light is just your preference. I prefer light because it's easier to see the cultures growth patterns.

Firm as in a higher agar ratio, making it more hard. But not dry.
