Half life on xan is roughly 12 hours. So your situation will likely continue to exponentiate. I hope you can find away from it and weather the storm. Its a trap drug that robs you of your soul.

Benzo addiction has been the worst thing I've ever been addicted to. From ketamine to opiates to nitrous to gasoline to booze...I cringe at people who take them now. They're catastrophic nightmare pills with a recipe for permanent damage in so many areas. Those things shouldn't even be given to retarded babies after they're organs have been sucked out.

Can vouch for the horrors of being a legitimate xan addict.
I spent roughly 2 years (maybe more?) with a nasty xanax habit. I quit cold turkey and the hell that followed, for multiple months, was every bit the hellish nightmare as people say. Anxiety was through the roof. I couldn't even keep my hand steady. Nightmarish insomnia.
Look 0.5 a day for a couple of months was nowhere near the absurd addiction I was at, so I can't recommend it enough -- stop now while you're still at a manageable level. Or else that 0.5 a day will evolve into 1.0 a day and beyond. And then it's gonna get really ugly when you eventually try to stop it, which by then it will be like trying to stop a locomotive going full speed ahead.

Withdrawing from benzos is the most demonic, disturbing, life threatening experience you'll ever go through, it's not worth it.

I hope i'll be ok, i've been through klonopin withdrawal before and the worst part is not the anxiety during the day, is the disturbing nightmares at night, you'd rather have an lsd bad trip.
This time i also wanna quit alcohol forever, it is making my life miserable.
I'll keep you guys updated but i think i'll be ok xanax is a short life drug and doesnt bind as strongly in the brain

You have no empathy dude, you clearly don't know what addiction is like.
By the way i've never done oxy, but i can assure you, opiates are less of poison than the old legal ethyl alcohol that destroys your liver, brain, pancreas and you can buy it anywhere.

I'd get off of it ASAP. I've been taking it everyday for 10+ years.
I was taking 90mg a month for the first 10 years,
Now I'm taking 45mg a month.
The withdrawals creep up on you until you physically are dependent on it. If I don't take it, I could die from withdrawals.

Tapering sucks unbelievably bad, but is highly recommended sooner than later at any given point.

I hope you get better too man, benzos are no joke
Try to decrease your dose as fast as you can physically handle, tapering can become a lifelong vicious cycle.
Ask your doctor a prescription for mirtazipine, it's not a benzo and it will help you sleep

You have no empathy dude, you clearly don't know what addiction is like.
By the way i've never done oxy, but i can assure you, opiates are less of poison than the old legal ethyl alcohol that destroys your liver, brain, pancreas and you can buy it anywhere.
I definitely know more than a thing or two abojt addiction: from personal experience, from dealing with addicted friends, family, and loved ones, to treating addicted strangers in the emergency department.
In terms of direct physical damage to the body, yes, alcohol is very arguably worse than opioids (other than MAYBE kratom, we dont know yet). But opioids can change your behavior, lifestyle, and perception of what is normal even more dramatically than alcohol- not to mention that most of them are easier to overdose on than alcohol.
Arguing about which hard drug addiction is superior is a dead end. Once youre an addict youll do what you can get when your drug of choice isnt around. At first it may seem like that one will work out better for you because you dont have a tolerance to it yet. But you will.
Relationships have boundaries. Ours relationship is "barely more than strangers". I have been more patient with you in the past- when you asked if trading alcoholism for tramadol dependence was a good strategy, or when you asked if oxy is really that bad. But at a certain point your threads like "i have been taking xanax everyday" can only be interpreted in 2 ways: you are stubbornly ignoring us, or you are crying out for help youre not ready to receive. The fact that i am not in here saying "oh man im so sorry this happened to you" doesnt mean I lack empathy. I sympathize with what you are experiencing and what you will experience, but I am also frustrated because it feels preventable
Its like when a patient you advised to lose weight 6 months ago comes in 2 months later with angina and you tell them again and they come in 3 months later with a heart attack. . Or when someone with covid tells you they didnt believe in it and werent taking precautions. Preventable suffering is frustrating
Good luck.

You should have little or no withdrawals if that is all you have been taking I was taking 2mg a day for several years and was able to kick it fairly easily I did go thru vibration land for a few days, IT SUCKED BAD

Tramadol and codeine are not a problem for me since i don't feel the urge to chase the high once they stop working for me.
I never said i wanted to trade alcoholism for a tramadol or codeine addiction, any type of addiction is bad.
As long as it doesn't become a problem for me i'll keep on doing tramadol once in a while.

Doesn't sound like you have a good base level to know what will cause you'd problems as you are chasing highs, that behavior will get you in trouble eventually.
Morrow gave you a lengthy response and you responded with your wrong I didn't do that, in a thread that you're concerned about becoming addicted to Xanax.
Being a poly drug addict buys you time but it's the chasing the dragon that will catch up to you.
Plus that stupid sexual theory you had exposed only exhibits your lack of critical thinking.
