Trichoderma contamination of Albino Penis Envy?

A friend dropped of this tub while passing through town. Apparently it was too cold to fruit in his neck of the woods, but bust out with pins a few days after arriving at my place.
I'm not an experienced cultivator of fungi but I have some background in biology including some training in ascomycetes/basidiomycetes and micro-fungi. I noticed regions of the tub that looked concerning based on my experience with agar plates of other specimen.
MANY years ago I received a message from the fungi to stop partaking until I integrate some lessons they had taught me. I had been thinking about them often recently, then unexpectedly they showed up at my home!
Please help me take care of them.

You could wait for the fruits to mature a bit more (maybe a day or two) but after you harvest just ditch it.
It can't be saved. Grow some new spawn and make a new tub
You could also just harvest them now and ditch it but it's not that bad. I'd wait for them smaller fruits to mature a bit more.
Some people might tell you that you're just increasing your spore load by keeping that around but I've kept tubs around that looked worse than that just to let the fruits mature a bit more. It has never affected future grows.

I appreciate the advice sincerely.
I have a lot to learn! Growing more spawn and making a new tub is a bit daunting (only because I don't know the first thing about it) but also exciting/interesting. Classic fear of the unknown I guess.
What is the best procedure to ensure that this contamination is eliminated from future colonies? Do I inoculate the new spawn using a spore print from this colony, or culture tissue from inside the stripe of a fruiting body on an agar plate and then use that plate to inoculate new spawn?

It's easy and you're in the best place to start.

Take an inner tissue biopsy for a clone culture, that'd be the easiest way to perpetuate the culture. But APE is fairly slow, so it may just be quicker to get a print or syringe of a different variety from a vendor.

looks like there is more than trich growing in there, seems some Neuro has crawled in too. I would suggest harvesting the fruits that are a little more mature and cloning them into agar.
Good luck.

Thank you for the info. What is "Neuro" short for?
