Fruit Conditions for Portobello and Button

So I just spawned some portobellos and regular old white buttons from grains to shoeboxes (since I have no clue what I am doing, I have Stamets TMC and GGMM but still...) One is just cased grains using RR's Pet moss verm recipe. I also spawned some in straw and cased with same casing. And last I spawned them in the casing mixed with the straw (about 50/50 mix) then cased with same casing.

I am wondering if I should leave the lids sealed until I want to get pins then crack them, or remove them, or am I an idiot for even trying it this way? Also I have oak pellets and soybean hulls now. should I have gotten those in the mix? What surface conditions am I trying to maintain as they come in? Or any other thoughts, comments, criticisms? cheers!

They need compost as a substrate, preferably one that was produced with animals poo in it.
