Nice finds, I should go hunting around where I live (perth, wa) but dont really know where to look other than the well-known and heavily policed areas down south.

Ballingup is dangerous, damn pigs. Ballingup cant be the only place subs occur in WA,i lived there for 29 years so i know the place well,i'd suggest that it would be worth while spending some time bush walking anywhere along the blackwood between bridgetown and augusta. there has to be more locations than just ballingup.

are you taking prints? if i cant find any in the next few weeks i think ill just try to grow them myself. this may not be the right question to ask in this forum but are they much different to cultivate than a cubensis is?

Sure I can spare a print for microscopy purposes only, pm me for one. I heard you can grow them on pf cakes like cubes, then crumble up fully colonised cakes in a eucalypt woodchip bed. Here are some more pics from the latest hunt at the hills around the Lofty area. The first two fruited off woodchips and the rest fruited of eucalypt mulch.

Thats crazy how you guys get some quite brightly yellow coloured caps on your subs over there. I hardly ever see that colouration here in NZ and when I have, the shrooms have been growing in eucalyptus mulch / leaf litter.

Hey bluemeanie if you think those are interesting check out our latest hunt. We found a lot of very pale shrooms that definately resemble bohemica more then subaeruginosa. This next one is particularly interesting I think (if my eyes dont deceive) it fruited straight off moss/soil. Most of them we found in the hills were fruiting mostly of rank grass under eucalypts not straight eucalypt mulch

I'm going to belair tomorrow... think i'll have any luck? I'll hopefully be looking for quite a few hours. I just hope people haven't raped all the shrooms from the last bit of rain.

P. cyanescens h can have n variations in the color of the caps. Here are several examples of a color change in P. cyanescens.
HEre are two images of Psilocybe cyanescens ith a yellow cap.
An orange colored cap
Here is a more reddish-chestmut colored cap
and a yellowish-orange cap to green staining along the edges of the cap.

If you look hard enuf ull definately have luck. We have found patches at several locations. The latest was at Scotts Creek they were really abundant scattered in the scrub on the hillside. We got about 40 all up in 1 hour of hunting.
