Spore germ 3 days
    #27097453 - 12/19/20 10:35 AM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Made 4 baby jar no pours, dropped fresh PESA spores from FK on that bitch, and in 3 days is showing first signs of germination. My camera isn’t good enough to capture the growth because it’s so minimal. Plan on taking T1 to grain if the spore plate is clean enough, but prob only like 25 dry grams. I want a tissue sample ASAP as well as a nice little dose for the new year, if at all possible. I know 2 weeks from germination is a bit unlikely, but I am also trying to be as incognito as possible and can’t be making a lot of ruckus if you catch my drift. Will upload pics when the time is right.

Here’s is 5 days from inoculation.

The only bright white myc I see is growing straight up into the air above the large spore clumps at the center. The rest of the fuzzies are where I poked my loop. Does this growth look okay for now? How long until I have something to transfer?

Unfortunately my friend, you won't have any mushies in 2 weeks. From the current stage a month minimum, even for a tiny batch. and that is pushing it.

Instead of rushing around, trying to push it, take your time and shoot for 6-8 oz by  Feb 5-10th, that plate gonna need 2-3 weeks of work in itself, probably 4-5 weeks if you do it correctly, with  min. 2-3 additional transfers.

I have everything I need to do it and dry it and store it all quite discretely, although, I don’t have monos dialed in yet to where I can set and forget them. I am used to misting and fanning. And given my current situation, I could mist and fan once a day or so. But other than that, my tubs would need to remain out of sight out of mind. Maybe I could get some sclerotia forming varieties started instead?

The hiding is your deal. I can already kinda tell this first round won't be very successful with all the " secret work'. Just telling you 6-8 weeks more ideal, if  you want better chance of success. Unfortunately, it's hard to hide this hobby and attempt to grow under parents staircase.

Grow some oysters at the same time to be your cover. Everyone will get a nice meal out of it and you'll be get some plausible denyability!

If you're not set up to cultivate, just don't. Your putting others at risk, probably destroy your family relationship.    Go out and buy a ounce, and have no worries. As much as so many people would love to get involved in this hobby, it's better if many just don't, until a better situation presents itself.

I have been lurking these threads and growing on and off since 2013. I have already been through every noob failure and trial and error you could imagine. I have also been successful over the years with cloning, A2G and G2G in an sab, I have successfully fruited several gourmet species as well. I have no intentions on ever giving up this passion of mine and will face the consequences like a man

That's awesome, just saying, your not going from the plate you posted to a harvest in 2 weeks. Rest is up to you bud.  Actually any plate..

It always irritated me when people had to make mention at the beginning of their posts about how mycologically proficient they were. Like somehow, unless they display a certain level of revelation knowledge concerning the sacred mush cult, they were ineligible for advice. But not too knowledgeable/experienced. No, God forbid you were someone RR would ask for advice from. Because let’s face it, most first world problems actually originate from a weakened identity fueled by the need for comparison, one to another. No offense bro, but I don’t believe you are any more qualified than I to effectively cultivate cubensis.

Imagine if I incubated my plate, and introduced fae after it was colonized. Let’s just pretend I got pins to form on my plate. That’s all the tissue I would need. And it is possible. And I would love to see it happen just for you

Sure, but then to have another 6 weeks  for a tub just get into fruiting.

Clone tissue on agar day 1

Day 8-10  transfer 1

Day 14-18 T2,

Day 20-25 perhaps ready for grain

If ready for a master  jar, 12-20 days min. to colonize from agar

G2G 8-10 days for jars to colonize

8-10 days for tub to colonize

15-25 days until first harvest ( pins in 10-12 days)

Tissue or not, it's a process, plus, you don't even know, if that tissue is even worth a hoot. Perhaps you just lost 6 weeks, before you even see the outcome. Regardless, there's no rushing in this hobby. even from tissue, you are 4-6 weeks out for just a few grams.

Just obviously, you may havr been lurking since 2013, a few projects under your belt, but even so, you really have no experience, suggesting that the plate is going to yield  ounce in 2 weeks, and your original comments.  Let her rip, but, not going to be 2 weeks for anything.

Your enthusiasm is awesome, but you need some perspective.

I never said anything about an oz yield lol. That was dry grain weight. And I appreciate the timeframes, that is what I was rusty on. It has been a while

Tstone knows what's up.

good luck. Would love to see results, looks good so far.

If you want more clear agar just simmer it for a few mins before filling your dishes.

You can go nothing to harvest within 18 days

So with not being able or willing to do 3-5 xfers to get to a clean culture that does not included that.

Clean culture to fruit in 18 days

Slurry tek

Culture to slurry to jars 3-5 days to colonization

then slurry to bulk sub

then 3-5 days

then fruiting

6-10 days

thats 16-22 days

So it looks I have some yellow bacteria under the surface. I remember reading somewhere how the mycelium can eat the pigment and so I was curious, is there a chance it’s not bacteria, but rather the myc is eating the blue dye and is eating the green in the dye first? I know this is a far fetched theory but I just need to justify my technique being better than this.

Here is 12 days. The agar was blue. What happened to the color? Can bacteria eat the dye?

To anyone who’s curious, I decided to take 3 T1s from the ms plate. They all look clean and I’m gonna keep the ms plate for shits and giggles to see if It pins since It got some ge during the transfer

I also made an effort to take 3 different size transfers. One is the size of a bb, one the size of a pin head, and one the size of a cunt hair. I can’t wait to see the results
