Rotating gas floor flange
    #27097352 - 12/19/20 09:28 AM (3 years, 1 month ago)

Just had a tiling project done and they used a notch to fit the CSST flexible gas line floor connection up. The problem is that I now have only that notch area to screw the connection down. The holes from the flange aren’t aligned and it’s not easy to turn with my hands. I do not want to drill into the tile and risk breaking or cracking it.

I have access in the basement and I’m hoping it’s as easy as just adjusting the connection slightly up top but I’m looking for advice.

Welp that is a shit show. Honestly i think you are going to need to smash out the tile and replace it with one that has a bigger notch, or leave it unsecured. I assume this is for a gas range/stove in a kitchen and will be hidden anyways. Not sure about code and inspection in your locality and whether or not it can stay as is.
Is there any space between the tile and the flange? Maybe you can make a piece of wood that can be fit between, secure the flange to that and then secure the wood to the subfloor through the notch.

To close the loop on this, I ultimately had the installer of the dryer tighten the connection a 1/4 turn so I could get the hole lined up with the notch. Maybe not the best solution but there was enough play that the turn didn’t put anything at risk. I monitored the connections for a week with no signs of leaks or gas smell. Note to self for the future, make sure the contractors plan for this type of thing and how to solve for the added floor height.
