The pressure cookers are gone * 3

People took care of their gardens through harvest this year! And now Amazon is out of the 23 QT Prestos until January and All American not filling new orders until even later. You can see how twice as many people searched for "canning" in the USA this year.

Some people selling used ones cheap on FB and CL tho!

Can confirm.  I started looking for a new PC at the beginning of the pandemic, but the prices were starting to get crazy....a regular PC that cost $75 was now going for over $100.

Quart jars have been hard to come by as well.

If you're desperate for a PC, try Ace Hardware.  Believe it or not, they've saved my ass with jars this year too.  I think if you opt for in store pick up you can save on shipping.

That's actually the Presto model currently unavailable at Amazon! I found a CL listing that looks like a 16qt.

I actually saw a stack of pressure cookers next to the register at a local feed store a couple months back. I think they were 17 quarts

Just started my first grow and had to use an instant pot style PC. Its only like 12 psi so I doubled the time.

Zero luck on wide-mouthed jars though.

you guys get big PC's, everyone buys the 6qt instantpot, I bought the 8qt DUO 7 in 1 on a harp cause it was normally $159.99 on sale for $89.99, and I couldnt imagine having one any smaller, I make chicken soup in the 8qt and it makes the perfect amount of broth to take 3 cups out to cook rice in and have enough broth left to make soup for everyone, im so glad I didnt get the 6qt

also everyone seems to have a problem when it flashes the burn error, my DUO 7 in 1 has never given me that error

A good-intentioned relative gave me a 5 6qt pressure cooker a few or many holidays ago.

Didn't want it but it made me feel I was again in pre-Katrina New Orleans.

Everythangs going online :awehigh:

Quarantining has definitely ramped up canning and PC sales, thats for sure. Im lucky that I still use PF cakes for growing as it requires only a Mexican tamale steamer to steam those fun lil' jars.

I just checked eBay. Found some decently-priced ones on there. They still got 'em :yesnod: :mushroom2:

I won an auction a 23 qt Presto new in box from eBay—by mistake for $108, including shipping. I didn't see the huge shipping fee! I suppose that's OK, my other for-sure option to pick up locally at Ace Hardware at $100 + tax.

It is impossible to break these devices it was missing the gauge in the middle or something in the middle all restoration series on how I bring it back to life I knew I would need some parts for as it had a hole through the top middle thing probably for a gauge and maybe a sealing ring
