Identification help * 1
    #27086377 - 12/12/20 07:59 PM (3 years, 2 months ago)

Habitat: Found in San Francisco while walking the dogs. These were growing in a flower bed. I didn't really take note of what they were growing on.

Gills: attached, whitish pink.

Stem: all the mushrooms were about 6" in the clump.

Cap: about the size of a quarter, brown.

Spore print color: N/A

Bruising: maybe none to slightly pink

Other information: I've been out of town so I'm not sure when they popped up.

Thank you both! They are supposed to be delicious from what I have read however, I'm not going to chance it.

Here are some follow up pics taken just now to show how they have matured.

Right?! Massive. This pic was taken in Golden Gate park this weekend. Look to be mostly the same species. Other mushrooms look like oysters to me. I'm a noob so I am not positive.

Ha yeah, I harvested a ton of oysters off that tree a few weeks ago. Saw it a few days ago with all the honey mushrooms too.

They are Armillaria, but you should always wait for Trusted identifiers to make an identification of your observations before you consume anything.
